@danbooke

I was wondering if you could tell me how u burned haunting ground, I have to install it to my ps2 hd myself and my install did not work, so I figured if I fudged the iso alittle I might get it to work, trouble is I need to know some1 who had a successful burn of it so I know what to fudge. Thx :)

haunting ground is a top game, its like resident evil, and the graphics are amazing

@ fknhstile

be aware this contains 3 dummy files( 3 GB WORTH!!!!) ,which may be the problem you are having...open the iso and see for yourself (isobuster)
remove/replace them, then rebuild the image, see if that helps

you cant just copy a ps2 game and play it without a mod device
you need a modchip or swapmagic disk's

Hey hurst,
I found the dummy files w/isobuster (iso's and udf's) but when I try to delete them isobuster wont let me. Is there a setting somewhere that "unlocks" this function or do I just not know how to use the software???

follow this guide,i have posted it before, but cant find it,so here it is....

WHAT YOU NEED

dvd decrypter
iso buster
nero (burning rom)
good quality media

step 1

make a new folder on the desktop, and use DVD Decrypter to make an iso image.....MODE>ISO>READ,.....put the image in the folder,if you are comfortable in finding the image on the hardrive, then dont make a folder on desktop.....its just easier this way.

step 2

make another folder on desktop, name it whatever the game is called.ie dead to rights 2

step 3

open up iso buster and browse for the iso image you just made,
open it.....you should see a long list of files on the right hand side(that is the breakdown of the iso image)....i.e lots of folders etc etc.

now we need both iso buster open and the empty second folder open on the pc screen,...so you should have in front of you,iso buster with a list of folders and the empty second folder

step 4

now from the list of folders in iso buster, drag and drop them one by one over to the new folder,in the same order they are listed,so start at the top and work your way down to the bottom, this may take some time,as iso buster will extract the files over.

now this new folder contains the rebuilt game you have just made with iso buster,.....check the size!!!!...it should be much smaller than the one you started with

step 5

now we have to burn it......
open up Nero, and select NERO BURNING ROM
you will see a window pop up with the title new compilation...on the left hand side, there is a list of options, dvd rom,dvd copy etc.....we want the bottom one DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO).click it..then click NEW,(top right)

step 6

you will now see a new window with 4 columns,
now find the folder which stores the game.i.e dead to rights 2,and open it up.
you should see a list of folders again, like before

step 7

in Nero, the first column on the left, titled "new"..this is where we want to place the game folders
so drag and drop them over, one by one, starting from the top working your way down...so now you will see a few folders in the first column, but also so a few in the second column, dont worry about that, its just the breakdown of the folders content

step 8

now we have all the folders ready to burn...(the blue bar at the bottom should read as the same size as the second folder which contains the rebuilt game.i.e 1.5 GB,if it is in the red,it means you have not selected DVD in the opening page of nero)
in Nero there is an emblem with a dvd/matchstick figure, click it.
it may give you the message,"error, you about to burn a multi session disc".,so turn off/untick "multi session",as this wont finalise the disk

step 9

make sure the settings for your usual burning preferences are set.i.e speed, turn off internet etc.......and off you go,burn the sucker

IF YOU HAVE DUMMY FILES

do as above,but insert.....these steps

step 4a

when you see the iso has dummy files.i.e 00DUMMY. 01DUMMY. GARBAGE ETC,
you need to get rid of them,by replacing them with a file.

so on the desktop, right click the mouse, select "new" > text document
rename it as it appears in isobuster, click enter

then open the text document on the desktop, hit space once, then save,
this will create a text document with 1 byte in it,

do this for all the dummy files you have,as some games have more than one.

DO NOT DRAG THE DUMMY FILES,FROM ISO BUSTER INTO THE NEW FOLDER

when you do step 7 , you need to add the new dummy files into nero,as instructed,in the same order as isobuster

btw,you cannot delete files/folders shown in isobuster as it is "read" only, its only showing you whats inside the image
just follow the guide, and pay attention to the steps at the bottom, labelled "dummy files"

Hurst,
Thx for the tutorial, I found an "enhanced" version of MagicISO 4.9 that allows me to do all that but what I didn't do was save the text files with 1 space in them, hence thas prolly why that version did not work when I installed it, is the one space mandatory and when I replace the dummy files do they have to b in the exact order that they were??

Hey Hurtsy,

It's a funny (and probably trivial) situation but I need to ask anyway. How important is it to have the files in the same order on the copy? Seems my Nero doesn't like to put them in the order I want to put them in.

Also, when I drag the main file (over 2 gig) to the compilation using the UDF/ISO option, it tells me I have to use UDF basically because of the file size. Is this normal or am I not doing something right?

Appreciate it.

domt worry about the order they appear in Nero, they will look different, but will burn in the same order you dragged them over
as long as you drag them over in the correct order,it should be fine

Thanx Hurtsy,

But what about Nero rejecting files over 2 gig using the UDF/ISO?

Guess I should mention I'm trying this out with GT4.

Appreciate it.

I have about a dozen DL DVD's on the way. Was just testing the process with GT4 because it's the only one I have that's over 4.7 gig that's still on my HD.

I considered buying swap magic but I don't have flip top lid for ps2 and I'm not sure how that method works. Do u think I would have better luck with it? Or is it picky like HD Advance is??

for gt4 on dl disc you have to have a mod chip installed...however there is a way to back up gt4 on a dvd5...just you can't play arcad mode..it only allows you to play the circuits and licenses...you have to read it with dvd decrypter...go into the settings of dvd decrypter turn burn proof off, turn volume lock off, then you write the iso with dvd decrypter at 1x or 2x...the disk will only got to about 83-88%...now you have aworking copy of gt4 on dvd5...and you can play the dvd5 copy with swap magic disks...good luck
