TahoePro - what does dvdinfopro or dvd intentifier say the media code is ?

download one or both of them and do a media info, it'll tell you the media code and a few other bits 'n pieces. post it here...

let me clear it up some my drive doesnt support DVD-r but will play DVD+r do you think staples will let me exchange?

Yes I bet they will. They're usually pretty good with returns and exchanges.

ouch, best of luck w/ an exchange...they should be pretty good about it, i've had opened media from staples exchanged with only a receipt and a smile~ :)
hope you fair as well too~ :P
if you DO get an exchange, try some maxells or other GOOD media instead~ i don't buy from staples frequently, so i do not know what they stock...but, maxells i know they have and sony dvd+r format if made in japan are genuine Taiyo Yudens, for media code check my sig.
