Hi guys I am trying to burn already burnt dvds by just using dvd shrink and just analysing it then encoding then burning so thats all good I did about 4 and then I began to run into problems with the movie Racing stripes I tried to use the program and at 57% of the analysing process it slows down and completely stops and then tell me there is a failure in dirve D: and that there is a Data error (cyclic redundancy problem) and I would like to know how to fix this annoying problem or should I just go and rent the movie and burn it for myself.

If your getting a CRC error it cause you used crap media for the backup.

What do you mean I used crap media for a backup is there any way I can burn this DVD because I have already burnt about 8 from already burnt discs and none have gave me a problem except this one so is there anything I can do? Thanks

hopefully the movies you are trying to burn again ARENT on memorex media if they are THATS probably your problem . back them up on good blank media as in TY,Ritek,Verbatim,Maxell . since your having problems with DVD Shrink you might try DVD Decrypter instead heres some guides on how to use them http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html

as flip suggested..it's probably the media..may i ask what media you are using? MOST of the time when shrink gives you a CRC error it's due to a dirty/scratched disk on an original pressed dvd, or in backup cases...crappy media~ :P
using better media for your backups will give you better results and LESS headache in becoming "non-playable" down the road.
Recommended Media:
Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

I had the same problem with racing stripes, neither shrink nor decrypter works. Must have an advanced encryption method not yet cracked.

Prodisc (with a C not K) media is actually better than almost all others, 100% AZO Dye. I've burned 300+ different movies on them and they come out perfect every time. You say you had Fuji Prodisk. That doesn't make sense. That's like saying I have a Ford Chevy. Prodisc is it's own entity, not made by Fuji. You may have thought you had Prodisc blanks but if you test them using DVD identifier, it'll tell you who actually made the disc. In fact there was a guy selling crap blanks on Ebay that he bought at Office Depot. He was advertising them as Prodisc. He got caught.

Man you need to get a clue. You're the one who said "prodisc aren't quality blank media" after i had just said i've never made a coaster. What do you consider quality media. Isn't 100% prefect copies "quality"? I don't care what you bought at Best Buy, if it said Fuji on it, it wasn't Prodisc. If you don't believe me click here
http://www.business.com/bdcframe.asp?ticker=Q.PDS&src=http%3A//rd...
This is Prodisc Technology Inc. You won't find the name Fuji here.
The blank media doesn't have anything to do with the original problem in this thread. The question asked by "BigBalin" was why does Shrink stop encoding "Racing Stripes" at 57%. The writing hasn't even begun. It's still reading the original DVD. The Blank isn't even in the writer yet so how does blank media affect this problem? You seem to have all the answers so tell me how my blank DVD, sitting on my desk, is causing Shrink to freeze up at 57% when it's encoding a movie? I'm listening, but I don't hear anything. And "dude" you really need stay in school, your spelling, grammer and sentence structure is SCREWED UP, badly. And it's "they're" not "there"! I had to read it 3 times in order to figure out what the hell you were trying to say.

@meaculpa - from original poster's first comments -
Quote: I have already burnt about 8 from already burnt discs and none have gave me a problem except this one
Quote: Hi I am using some shit looking discs called misonic is this a good name I have never even heard of them?
- a few of the guys i think interpreted this as he's trying to copy from a copyand have replied accordingly, and i commented that it's NOT a new encryption method.
Pls do us all a favour and ease up on the insults ? so we can get back on track ?....

i consider TY,Ritek,Verbatim,Maxell good quality blank media and its perfect NOT prefect idiot .As far as the problem with dvdshrink its the new encrytion you will need to run AnyDVD in the background with dvdshrink to do the newer movies. And GUESS WHAT the Fuji Flim DVD DASH R are prodisc in this area MANY members in here will TELL YOU THAT now LAY OFF IDIOT you are wearing very thin in here QUICKLY!!!

Exactly. This has gotten a little off track. In my original post I said the same thing happened to me with this movie. At 57% the encoding stopped and I got the same error code. I was ripping from a new, factory pressed DVD. Go figure.

if your gonna use DVD Shrink reauthor the file so you can find it .an easier method would be to use DVDCopy3 with AnyDVD in the background then use Nero to burn

aabbccdd, You need to get on medication for that temper you've got. You're not going to make it in society if you can't communicate without constant insults. Remember, you are the one who attacked me for my statement that Prodisc blanks are good media. And by the way it's encryption not encrytion. I didn't think you'd catch my typo, there might be hope for you yet! Have I worn too thin yet?

Friend you are trolling, taking the topic of thread, and clearly did not read the original poster's question at all. You are saying one person can't write, but you seem not to be able to read!
The writing began and finished, the person has already burned the disk and is attempting to copy his burned disk.
Indeed if you bothered to read you would see he named his disk media brand he is reading from.
Now onto correct answer: This is a media problem. I have ripped burned "Racing Stripes" and had no problem. It is not, as mea cupla claimed, a new copy protection method.
I would not bother to get anydivd. It costs money and it does nothing ripping with dvddecryter won't.

Why is it every baby who decides to troll corrects the usage of others yet makes more mistakes themselves?
"Dude" did you really spell grammar as "grammer" while mocking another guy's spelling? LOL! Nothing to say on the subject and you made yourself look silly.

THis problem isn't a media one. I had it myself, and I was using Maxell. You're going to have to reburn them from an original. I ended up reformatting my pc. Not suggesting this as an answer, just what I did. I assume you were using AnyDVD in conjunction with shrink? I believe my problem was a bad AnyDVD program. Basically what happens is after you burn it, it becomes reencrypted and can't be broken. Or something to that effect. Just my thoughts on it.
