Hello Peeps,
Just wondering if someone could help.
I've tried about 3 times now but I must be using the wrong code.
I have the following:-
Phone - Nokia 6230
Network - UK O2
serial no - 353767001371449
Any help would be appreciated.

This is an interesting tidbit of information. Might be useful for everyone here.
I've unlocked my brand new 6230b (Cingular, US, software verion RH-28) with one of the codes (Code #7) generated by NokiaFree calculator. The main thing is: " I DID NOT PULL THE SIM CARD OUT WHILE BEFORE ENTERING THE CODES". Simply turned it on, put in the code, and that was that. I have no clue whether this matters, but maybe those folks who had problems with codes previously, might want to try this way. Again, no idea what the significance of leaving the SIM inside is, but that's what I've done to get my unlocked. I got the needed "Code restriction off" message right away. Haven't tried the phone with a different provider yet, but I will post a follow-up for those interested as soon as I get my hands on a SIM card from a different provider.

my nokia 6230b manual says it can take up to 256mb of mmc card. my question is, will unlocking it by the methods i've seen on this thread allow my phone to handle a higher capicity mmc card?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well jpp01uk, you seem to be the busiest guy on the net. I am in the US and I too have a ebay special Nokia 6230b that is locked for Cingular USA and I have an AT&T Wireless SIM that I want to use with it until I am good and ready to switch to Cingular.
Here's what I've done so far:
I went to http://unlock.nokiafree.org/ and successfully unlocked my 3 AT&T Wireless Nokia phones (6800,6800, and 3300) in preparation for switching to Cingular SIMS if the time comes. When I tried to unlock this Cingular phone (Nokia 6230b), I tried code 7,1, and 2 and it did not unlock it. (I couldn't find "Cingular USA" so I used "Cingular Pacific Bell West" so maybe that was the problem) I attempted to unlock without the SIM card (the inactive Cingular nor the active AT&T Wireless SIM) in the phone.
So now that I have given you all this, do you think you can help me? If anybody can it is you!!
Here are the details:
Nokia 6230b on Cingular network
IMEI: 353372001403803

Is it possible to unlock this phone still?
I tried the cyberGSM 5.4 program and it didn't really seem to work..
The IMEI is 355038001302976 and it's locked to Tele2 in Norway.
Provider: 24201000
Norway, Tele2
We just moved to Australia for a while and wanted to use local Vodaphone cards instead while we where here :(
Can anyone help us?
