Yeah thats you problem its too small i had that problem with GoW.I think you can do a 1:1 copy, if you want to risk it you can as its just 1 disk :) First off how big is the file when you decrypt it with dvd decyptor?

the ISO Image is 4.19GB and the MDS Image is 4.22KB.

Yeah you can do a 1:1 copy just do the MODE>ISO>WRITE (or press w ) and select your file and the lowest speed put in your blank DVD-/+R and off you go, and see if it works :) Thats if you want to??

Okay, I have been researching this like crazy and now it is 3am and I'm no closer to knowing how to do this than I was before!
I am using a G5 with OS X and this thread is focused on backing up games in Windows. Is there a step-by-step guide for backing up my games on a Mac? If you can help me, assume I know nothing about this. Cause I don't! When I say newbie, I mean newbie. The only thing I know about my Mac is how to use my graphics software for design.
HELP! I don't even know what programs to download. I keep hearing about DVD Decrypter but it's only for PCs... and I have a bunch of DVD+Rs... and what's this about needing a patch? A patch burned in with the DVD or something I use on my PS2? EH?! See what I mean? I really don't have a clue. :)

When you're asking what I have to boot the games, you're referring to booting them on the PS2 console, correct? Which means I need some sort of physical attachment/unit on my PS2 in order to play backup DVDs that I have created on my computer?
(I told you this was my first time, I only just found out you could even back up games yetserday!)

hi, i am following the guide in the begaining of this fourm on how to rebuild games. i am trying to do grand turismo 4. i am suck on step 5.

you might be missing the wnaspi32.dll. Nero should have this if you
need it. " . well assuming i get this file, where does it go? i am stuck on this because i can not advance to the next "record screen".

Yes, you will need either a mod chip or Swap Magic. Swap magic doesnt void your warrenty and it can be in the range of $15-50 depending where you live. to find out more go here http://www.swapmagic3.com
A modchip costs more but you dont have to swap discs all the time. You wouldnt want to get one if your ps2 is old tho.
It goes in your system32 folder, i think.

Thanks Alien13! I looked into both of those and decided on the SwapMagic3, because of the warranty issues and the lower cost.
So once that arrives, my PS2 will be ready. What do I need next?

" or whatever you want, and in your posts say that your new to this and your getting swap magic, and you need to know what you need to backup ps2 games. Say it nicely or pople wont answer. And call it backup NOT BURN :)

I am having a problem with cddvdgen.. am using Windows XP Home edition SP2 and can not run the installer..
It continues to give me an error about running a 16bit program...
Can someone tell me how to get around this ?? Please ??

Yo, i burnt the Iddisc thing to find out the id of an online game... the burnt copy is working an all, i boot it up using SM3.6 Compact Disc PAL, but when i remove the lil plastic bit which stops the cd spinning, and put an original online game and out that plastic bit back... click X... nothing happans... the screen remains the same... i tryed it on an american game i happan to have and a PAL one but no answer... what must i do, like i said before there are some neat games out there that i want but they are network play games... i dont really care about playing online really but would the game run properly if i dont do that whole step into finding the code n shit?
if i back it up normaly like any other game will it still work?

I dont think it matters if you leave out the codes. And do you
put in swap magic swap the discs for the id one, press X to boot it it asks for an original, press eject put in your original and press X?

hi, what program do you recoment for coppying ps2 cds. i just got worms forts: under siege. i usally use dvd decripter, but i can't with this one because it is a cd iso game. will clone cd work or Nero. will it come out right? i have swap magic 3.6. the game has a blue back on it.

i guess that Forum was helpfull in some way's, but it would of been nice to get to find out my own codes!! you see im using thoes 3 lil plastic bits on ma ps2 slimline, so i cant really press eject... when i remove the 3rd peice that in other ways is eject, and when put back the ps2 lid would technicly be closed... so im guessing im doing that right, and yes, i burnt the idfinder shit on CD-R and booted it up with Swap Magic 3.6 Compact Disc and it loads up fine, but when i eject and put the original (I Used Star Wars Battelfront PAL & Tony Hawks Underground USA) the same screen remains, at one point it said reading disc but gave me nothing back =s
So don't no whats popin there, but yea man... sucks!
PS: i have read it somewhere, but kinda forgoten, what do you type in the first 2 boxes "XX XX" ?? i think anything i want right? or must it be number letter number letter or suthin like that?

No probs, and yeah im not sure whats wrong with it, sucks tho.It should work, what spped did you burn it at? Not sure about the XX XX part once i just put the XX XX, not sure if it worked tho?? Sorry i cant help you more :(

its all good, you did your best! thanks yo =) umm i burnt it on alcahole 120% following screenprint guides... i put the speed on maxium i think... not sure. it took less then a min to burn it anyways lol its only about 26mbs
