Do you guys just write on the DVD with a sharpie? Or do you print out a label? Or something else? What is the best method?

Yeah, definately fine tip Sharpies. I'm too lazy to go through the process of creating labels. Besides, my DVD-Rs are for my own personal use anyway.

Both sharpies and Full hub inket printable media on my Epson-r200 printer. I haven't tried the silver inket printables, but that one in alkohols sig looks very good!

You got to be careful on the regular sticker labels, they can cause playback issues later on down the road. I've replied to way too many members using that method.

I use a fine tip sharpie. I write the name of the movie, program(s) used to rip/burn, and the date. I don't know if sometime in the future I might want to know when/how it was burned. My wife says this is too anal. She's probably right -- I also record info each time I fill up with gas!

tsquare43, I don't think it's Anal to put a date and program used, etc. on the disc. You can easily forget these things. Besides, if you watch one 5 years later, you can see if the Picture quality is still there!

fine tip sharpie, however i'd just bought some Ritek printables and the pens don't woek well. so i bought some Verbatim markers, they write real nice, the tip is fairly fat but not too fat to write with, plus they write real real nice on normal discs. i got them for Maplin for £3 for pack of 4, which is incredible since Maplin are so highly priced for most stuff.

i put dates on the cd's i keep for all my driver/util downloads i've been making over the years, but stopped that with dvd burning as i burn far too many !
