Well, really, the Brutes didn't turn on the Elites so much as did the Prophets. The Brutes have never liked the Elites. Papa_face, I can understand your dislike of the Arbiter, but I really don't feel that way.
I hope that the Elites don't completely ally with the humans, but it's probably going to happen. Having been completed rejected by the Prophets, having seen the Rings' true purpose, they have no reason to remain in the Covenant. And if the Elites leave, the Hunters and Grunts will shortly follow. And I wonder what side the Sharquoi will be on, if they are in H3.
As for the Ark, I know the popular theory is that it is on Earth, but this theory is flawed. For one thing, Earth is not a Forerunner planet, and to this point, Forerunner structures have only been found on Forerunner planets. My guess would be that the Ark is on Coral, and is the archaelogical discovery that has been found there (as mentioned on page 2 of Conversations From The Universe). It seems to fit perfectly what we know about Forerunner architecture. Plus, why would ONI be interested in some random discovery out in space?

The strange thing with Halo is you cannot say that, the way that it is explained in the game is strictly true. This may sound a little confusing but what we know as Halo's true purpose might not necessarily be correct. Maybe the Covenant are correct and "we" are wrong. We cannot say that what I have just said is incorrect because the next book/game hasnt been written.

I wonder if in halo 3 you could lay down in a sniping postion or have rumble pit snipers i would definitley appreciate that. And i hope they improve the ranking system of xbox live for the game because i'm tired of nubies on my team making me loose by not getting enough kills and knocking down my rank along with theres

The problem with Halo 2 is that it has Xbox Live. That is a good thing in some ways because its good to play online, however it also means that Halo had to be toned down in the difficulty. That is why we have things like auto-aim on opponents heads. The reason being is that they have to make the game accessible to all gamers, not just skilled gamers.
I wish only skilled gamers could play, but sadly that isnt the case.

cant you shut off the auto aiming? those option have to be in there or the game wouldnt sell. i liek to play games with noobx so i can pwn them like hell. oh well.

No, I dont think you can turn off auto aim. Thats why a lot of skilled gamers on Halo 2 get very irritated. The only time when auto aim is turned off is if you shoot your own team.

Wow, nice theory papa_face. You posted it on bungie.net, too, didn't you? It's very detailed, and most of it seems plausible. There are, however, some details, that don't quite seem to match up. Like this part:
"And by a twist of cruel irony, Truth takes this transmission to the ark as the path to the divine beyond, and thusly follows it. So, Truth thinks the Tartarus has been successful because a path has appeared leading to a already religious spot"
This doesn't fit the timeline of the game. Truth has already left for Earth before Tarturus has even reached the Control Room.
Also, the part about Mercy's dying words: if the activation of the Halo brings everyone to the Great Journey, then why does Mercy say that Truth is headed to Earth to "finish what we started". Shouldn't he say that Tarturus is finishing it, since he is heading to the control room?
Oh, any ideas what the discovery on Coral mentioned in Conversations From The Universe might be? If it's not the Ark, what is it?

Yes, I did post it on Bungie a long time ago.
The object discovered on Coral appears to be a forerunner structure. However whether it is the Ark is another thing. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that it is the Ark. I suppose this is where Halo's biblical reference comes in.

Not that my say matters but once again were drifting back to same old same old and i dont appreciate the newbs here dising cod2 um send me a friend invite on xbox live im blunts4all and ill pwn you its a great game and doesnt have autoaim. And anubis me and my friend were playin live and switched from cod2 to halo2 and then back. Besides your completely wrong about the graphics. I have a 40in hd lcd and my xbox is SET to 720p so the graphics arent even in the same league as cod2 and just the whole gameplay with the guns is soo much better. though it is repetive and very similar after a couple rounds its still great. I just noticed as i was thinking how to finish this paragraph that there is like NOTHING left of halo3 to talk about. We picked it clean and this forum keeps goin on and on because random noobs come back with the same damm questions. Can we like talk about somthin else who cares if its the "official Halo3 chat" thers nothin left lets talk bout a different game like gears or war or somthin or games similar to halo so were kinda still on topic

and they look little different. resolution sure, but they only look different as ut2003 to ut2004, just shinier, bit more details, and slightly better modles. also comparable to any game realesed one year ago to one now, same sifference.

you ever think the storyline in ahlo 2 was lackluster due to the fact most of the original members of bungie were fired or quit after the takeover? they worked on a new game called stubbs the sombie which i hear is fun to play.

Yes, that is one thing that is to blame Halo 2. Although it also has a lot to do with Microsoft taking over Bungie. Microsoft made Bungie rush Halo 2.

yeah. this time they arnt rushing. lets hope its worth it. thing is no one i know wants a 360 or cares in the slighest for it, even my xbnox fan friends. they all want the ps3 because of the pluses it is said to have.

you should check out the ps3 vs 360 thread in the ps3 general discussion. the prices these people are putting out are insane and no companie would take a loss of 400 per sonsole or more, its just signing a death cirtificate. the price will be little or no increase from the premium 360. the specs in uneeded areas are being reduced, such as 1080p may have been changed to 1080i or 720p with upscaling options if the tv supports it, and the 3 ethernet ports lost their ability as a router. and the pices ppl put on the cell and bluray are insane. 200 on wholesale for a drive that sony themselves helped developed and own? duhhhh. and 150 for a chip sony already put so much money in? i think not, especially in the wholesale amounts. these things need to be considered, and obviouisly are not.
