i hope with the new writers there will be more news, because this site has been lacking it lately, with one new thing every day or two. it used to be like 2-3 new news articles a day.

you know, wondering and thinking about halo 3 wont make it come faster or wont make anyone corrent before its release, so if this game wont be out for quite some time, then forget about it and let time takes its course and u'll see the game alot sooner (it will seem so mentally).

also, why doesnt anyone take these good ideas like the 'arc of the covenant' and email them to bungie every week till you get a reply. its how you make things change. i was able to get something from ut2004 done differently. halo 3 will be out, and it will be how it is. the story will be no different no matter how much we ponder it. so come up with theories and submit them, god knows they need some creativity after halo 2
amen. ~8) BigD out

I doubt that anyone's email is going to get Bungie to change Halo 3's story. I'm pretty sure they've already got that set in stone. Anyway, I'm starting to agree with anubis66. I'm thinking about just not paying attention to any of the Halo 3 stuff: theories, gameplay vids, screens, etc. That way it will not only come faster, but everything will be completely new and amazing to me when I play it. Think about Halo 2 - most of the great gameplay features you knew about pre-release. Wouldn't it have been a lot better to just suddenly find out in game that you can board vehicles, that you can dual wield, that the BR is the best gun in the game? Of course it would have.

I just found this on Wikipedia, =D, might come in handy soon ;)

Speculation
There is speculation that Mombasa held some significance to the Forerunners which is why the Covenant attacked the city. The fact that the Prophet of Regret was able to jump straight to Delta Halo afterward indicates that something must have been found while in Mombasa (possibly the Ark?), because the location of the Halos were a mystery to the Covenant. It is believed that the Scarabs were designed to be digging machines, and that they were digging for something in New Mombasa. There are 3 Scarabs in Halo 2, one in the campaign level Metropolis, one in the campaign level The Great Journey, and the other on the multiplayer map Turf. Many Scarabs have fallen in the narrow streets of Old Mombasa. What is very interesting is also the proximity of New Mombasa to the Great Rift Valley, the evolutionary "birthplace" of the Human race, from where the earliest Humans migrated out into the rest of Africa and eventually the world. If Humans can be seen as the descendants of, or in any way biologically related to the Forerunners, then it is a possibility that an extremely ancient Forerunner facility of some kind is nearby (again, the Ark?). The teaser trailer for Halo 3 and the associated FAQ only strengthened this theory.

If you read the Halo series you will notice they mention DIGGING MACHINESon reach when they were trying to reach a core in the mountain. I'm pretty sure they refered to them as scarabs but not for sure, (been a while since i read the book), also

that was thought of after a year halo 2 came out, i remember posting something like that a while back ago, anyways, does anyone think it's rather odd that everything weve been fantacizing seems to be proven right with every announcement made, and does anyone remember the halo 3 script hoax? doesn't the trailer bear a whole lot of resemblence to it? just saying it's pretty wierd if u ask me.

yeah we do need a new conversation, but the question is-can we keep this up until the release of Halo 3?

anyway im still stiking with my old theories
1)the Halos came from us in the future-which helps explain why some symbols on Halo look like the Aztec ruins and why Halos atmospere is exactly like earths and why 343 guilty spark recognizes the MC and his armor.
2)millions of years ago, knowing their race was coming to an end, the forrunners came to earth which was nothing but a barren waste land and out of their own DNA they brought life to this planet and seeded the human race. They also hid many artifacts and clues such as the one on reach for us to find since we contain forrunner blood flowing through our veins.(I like the first theory more)

the time travel theory, though confusing does make sence in a way. I was just playing Halo ce on the two betrayals level and as I was watching the cutscene the monitor said

343 GS-(after explaining to the chief how the Halos work) "but you knew that already, I mean how couldnt you?" goes on to say "you were with me each step of the way as we managed outbreak procedure" continues to say "why would you hesitate to do what youve already done?"

the way the monitor speaks it sounds as if someone identical to the MC is who activated the Halos last. Or it could be a case of mistaken identity.

anyway Im sure all of you knew this Im just out of stuff to say.

Peace out!

same here, it's my favorite theory ive heard so far, and all of the earlier details in halo point out to that conclusion,

thx for pointing that out T4spartan, I agree with that whole heartedly agree with you,

The whole Biblical aspect makes a lot of sence too. I am impressed that someone else thought that. As for me, I read the bible every night and yeah, the first time I played halo I had a diff story growing in my mind lol and My Gamertag is Noah***,

The covanant have all their vehicles named after mythical creatures
(Ghost, Wraith, Banshee *I forget that other useless vehicle in Halo2)

And the humans have it names as Earthen Creatures (Scorpion, Warthog, Pelican)

And the Flood have the biblical sense thing going on...

There is quite a lot to think about this time around for the last game.
nice for pointing that out, I believe there is a WHOLE LOT MORE to the halo story than we give it credit for, espicially all the hidden christianity and such, does anyone think the writer is a Jesus Freak? Also warrior, the other vehicals are Phantom(dropship), Seraph (Covenant aero space fighter), shadow (covenant gun turrtet), Scarab (huge covenant tank building thingy 8}) on the humans there is mongoose (4 wheeler, never made it into games but seen in trailers), longsword (Earth;s aerospace fighter), albaltross (equilvelent of pelican, seen only in multiplayer map "relic") Please notice that shadow isn't a creature and scarab is actually real, although neither the scarab or shadow is drivable)also the seraph by definition is "angel" and refrenced in bible as highest ranked angels.I hope u all find this informational :). BigD OUT!

why doesnt someone with nice model making skillz make a fake teaser trailer of a fake storyline and pass it off as a halo 3 teaser. that would be the coolest.

For those of us with XBL, we could do it that way (a live chat); do something like Halo 2 (or 360 games if you have one) and just stay in the lobby.

As for a fake Halo 3 trailer, that's actually a pretty good idea. I don't have the tools to do it myself (at least not to make it look convincing) but I'm willing to help with ideas.

What about msn, then at a certain time in the day we all go and talk, i mean we could use voice clips if needed.

just a thought =D

(and don't forget we don't all live in the same country/timezone, so pick a sensible time)
