i have not seen the trailer, i dont have an xbox nor would i get live.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

im dl'ing it now, but from what i saw, the end of that page really seems to be stolen from xenosaga episode 1. the whole large great artifact in the earth.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

well its not an entire year .... lets see its like 8 months... but gates said it probly be out before or around .... so it can be as early as the previous halo 2 in nov so its between half a year 6-8 months...
and hey i dont think that was 2 mins lol it felt like 1 hmm sounds like a time line/travel or fore seen future what you guys think,?

no offence, i am glad that bunjie released the trailer, however that was not the best trailer, and certenly not what i expected from a higly antisepated games!
oh well.

Not the best?! I thought it was awesome!!! The first thing I noticed was the bridge in New Mombassa off in the distance. I know it seems obvious that the Forerunner discovery the Covenant made is the Ark, but consider: A) Bungie probably wouldn't want to do something so obvious for their masterpiece, and B) Cortana says "This is how the world ends"; the Ark would take out more than just this world - it would take out basically the entire universe.
A big question that I can't wait to have answered is how Cortana could be infected, seeing as how she is not sentient. It's obvious that she would have had the opportunity to be infected, but the Flood previously only could take over sentient life. All I can say is that it is bad news, since Gravemind probably now has all the knowledge Cortana had. Hold on, just thought of this, Cortana could possibly be Forerunner! How else would she be able to know the future? I'll work on this theory and post back later....

Cortana could, theoretically become infected via gravemind. He is not a stupid as he looks/sounds.

lol, ither that or there allready in one and they found access to the internet.
that trailer was amaysing. but why the last halo? when they originally made halo they said theat they would be 5 chapters/games and now its gone down to 3!.
its alright ill finish it off myself lol.
the grapics were amaysing in the trailer but halo himself hasnt really upgraded. still the same amaoun of pixles i guess but o well.
hay guys look at call of duty 3 and brother in arms there all amaysing the grapics. if you thorght that the graics were goood on 360 now yoru mad. its unbelivibal the new games there making because they have more time to develop them.
cant wait to wayste money! better start getting some then.

Ah now you see, it is the final Halo as we know it. But it doesnt mean it is the final game that Bungie is going to make that links in to the Halo story. Remember that Halo is a sub-branch of Marathon. So dont expect:
a) This to be the end of "Halo"
b) Dont expect all your questions to be answered in the next installment (halo 3)

Yes, Gravemind is very intelligent, but I don't see how he could infect Cortana. Remember, she has her loyalty programmed in, so she cannot willingly let him take over. Captain Keyes, as he was consumed, was able to keep all info from Gravemind that he needed to by not thinking about it, and Cortana, not being human could do an even better job. Plus, there has been no precedent for the Flood being able to infect non-sentient life.
Cortana could have conceivably just gone crazy. Remember, "smart" AI have a life span of seven years, at the end of which they just become so consumed with attaining knowledge that they cannot function anymore.
As for my previous Cortana=forerunner theory, she obviously is not a forerunner creation, but she could have encountered some kind of complete Forerunner archives and that have a major effect on her actions/mannerisms. The fact is, we don't know the time frame between the end of Halo 2 and this trailer. We don't know where (or if) she's been since talking with Gravemind. We also don't know if she's transmitting to the Chief, or if that transmission is in real time. Lots of pieces to be filled in; Halo 3 is going to be amazing.

Yes, but there is another AI on High Charity which is an old copy of Cortana which is infected, and could be causing these problems. Especially along with Gravemind.
The Cortana = Forerunner is rediculous because there is simply no way that an A.I could have made the Halo's etc.
Cortana has gone rampant anyway because of all the information she found in the first Halo. So this is simply adding more fuel to the fire.

I'm not saying that she is forerunner, just that she could have found their records and liked what she saw and is following forerunner protocol (btw, the Monitor is a forerunner creation, so don't say there are no forerunner AI's). And when did she copy herself on High Charity? The only time I remember her copying herself was on Ascendant Justice. And she didn't really go rampant, she was just slowed down.

I never said there were no forerunner A.I's. I said they couldnt make Halo's. Also the Cortana copy was distributed throughout the covenant fleet. I'm not 100% sure that it is still on High Charity but there is a fairly large chance.
P.S I am not stupid. Since you are a newbie I suggest you look back through these pages at my posts and see that I am an avid fan, and a keen theory developer.

Ah, well I never meant that Cortana herself was a Forerunner. Do you have proof that the copy made it to High Charity? If so, give it. Not that I don't believe you, I've just haven't seen confirmation of this.

Its in the books somewhere Im sure. I can remember reading it. I know for certain that the old Cortana is still very much active in the covenant computer systems.

I remember that, but I don't think High Charity was even mentioned in the books, if it was it was only briefly. I wouldn't make any assumptions like that, though. If it's not clearly stated, then you can't say that it happened.

Why? Don't know. That's what Halo 3 is for. I'm just saying that there is no direct evidence to support your statement that the copy of Cortana was in High Charity.
