I personally hate it when a main character dies. All the action figures, books, games, and then he dies?
I don't think Master Chief will die. He's too bada55.

Sgt. Johnson is kinda cool I guess...
But Cortana will naturally die after seven years.

the hydro fluid is a special type of gel substance within a spartans suit that can help to reinforce the armor. You see a good example of this used towards the end of the novel Fall of Reach. When the spartans are desending to Reach but their aircraft gets attacked and they have no choice but to jump. Before they jump, the spartans increace the fluid in their armor to its maximum so they have a chance at surviving the extremely long fall.
Peace Out!

I cant really imagine a practical use within the game that they would use it. It may feature in the cut scenes, but i doubt if it will be a actual thing you will be able to use.

lol, if the MC can survive the fall from the Cairo Station in Halo 2, i think he can survive a fall from a pelican.

True, but heres the thing. The fall from Cairo station onto the ship was in space. The fall that takes place within a planets atmosphere has gravity tugging on falling objects.
example: person jumps from an airplane thousands of feet in the air on to solid ground...ouch!!! you know their deader than saddam. A fall from space wouldnt kill you since theres no force of gravity acting upon you. When you move a certain directon in space, you stay moving in that direction at a costant pace unless acted upon by an outside force= Newtons laws of physics.
So if there where a mission in Halo 3 where your peligan is attack and you must dive out towards solid ground it will present a perfect opportunity to use the hydro gel.
Peace Out!

lol you described gravity as if I've never heard of it before.
Anyway the force of the bomb shockwave would have sent the MC flying off into space at a pretty high speed. He then crashed into In Amber Clad.
Nevertheless it is pointless talking about this, as it will not feature in Halo 3.

do you think there will be any new skulls? If so what?

Thats almost impossible to answer as skulls were simply put in there by the Bungie team. I think we may see a few skulls, but what they are for is beyond me. I think bungie will think of a new thing for people to use and find in Halo 3.

Did anyone hear of someone who found the "real cowbell skull"? It's in the second underwater transport of regret. He showed the location in a video, but claimed he could only grab it once.
Also, has anyone heard of the Maji skull?
It has to do with the swahili announcement about old man maji being a con man and will be beaten to death with a stick. It's supposedly on outskirts, somewhere near the IWHBYD skull.

"the real cowbell skull", as in another unamed skull in Halo 2? the only unamed skull I know or as you call it "cowbell", is at the beginning of Halo 2 where you get on the trolly cart with Johnson and you grab it while the trolley is moving.
IWHBYD( I would have been your daddy) skull

I dont know about the Maji skull but heres an article about its existence

I could barely see the "cowbell" skull in the water (in the video). Maybe it's easier to just travel the ocean floor and get the skull while outside the tram.
just push a covenant ammo box laying on it's side into the tram. Then activate the tram from outside, and quickly walk in and out to trigger the closing doors. then look down. Soon, you will spawn on top of the tram, free to explore the ocean floor beneath.
I'm too lazy to try. Can someone else here try?
BTW, it might require some crazy combination crap just like IWHBYD.

@ deadrain: oops, forgot to tell you - activate the sputnik skull first. That'll make the box move faster. Also, it takes a few tries to get the box positioned right.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the Maji skull-
I only got a hint "next door to the IWHBYD skull" or something. Maji means water, so maybe the stuff below \/ has something to do with it.
Outskirts - A few wierd things.
1. Water wall (makes splashes/ripples when shot). Wall has repeating pattern that is supposedly a map of outskirts (mixed up).
2. Dori and Nemo/Soffish. There is a pattern on a few walls that looks like Dori and Nemo, or two soffish.
3. Bubbly/Fiery wall. Near the soffish/nemo pattern. It looks like fire, or maybe bubbles.
4. Capability to get across invisible wall. Dunno how, but you can get into the deep WATER by crossing the invisible wall.
All of the above have something to do with water (maybe not the fiery wall). Remember old man maji/WATER. It's a long search, but maybe there's a skull somewhere in the water. I think there was this guy who overlapped parts of the water wall pattern on photoshop and the outcome looked like a skull. Maybe that was a clue.
Visit High Impact Halo for all your, egg, skull, and walkthrough needs.

Go to High Impact Halo, then the forum section. Everything you need will be there.
EDIT - Well, i'm feeling nice today.
Play the game normally until the beach segment before you enter the tunnel. To your left there are some huge rocks. Grenade jump (sputnik) up the ledge and walk to your right. If you see two fish, you're on the right track. Eventually, you'll reach the fiery wall and somemore fish.
As for the invisible wall and water wall, go to the link above.

Oh well...
EDIT - darn, forgot to tell ya. There's one more texture in Outskirts. It's a bunch of huge bulletholes.
EDIT 2 - Here's something about Soffish.
The anagram is the beginning letter of every skull.
(taken from HIH - thank them)
"We all know that on Christmas Day, if you look at the signs in zanzibar, it says something about soffish.
Out of EGATFIBGBCSIMAW, you can make WEBCAMS A BIG GIFT (VJAY8088 found this).
At the Bungie Webcams, the bottom picture has a can of tuna and a vase of water. At the page that is about Soffish, it has a picture of soffish in sort of a vase thing.
Since Soffish are found on Christmas, they were given as a big gift and then after that, they're lost. So everyone, turn the dates on your Xbox to December 25th, then start searching!"
Off current topic: I just learned how to fly over another banshee and hijack in midair. cuul.
