I give up on this movie! I have tried dvdfab, DVD Decrypter, dvdclone, and my free trial is up on AnyDVD...if the movie was good enough I would get the program but I did not think it was worth the funds. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

I have been posting similar messages in other threads, but DVD Decrypter does not fail on the new movies. All you need to do is rip in IFO mode NOT File Mode.

It seems that the ARccOS protection is just a couple of bad cells, but they cannot actually corrupt the movie (doing so would screw up the DVD Playback). This means you can just skip the corrupted cells or just skip all the crap (empty) cells and rip.

For Bewitched the Corrupted cells are 14 & 15. These are located in VTS_02_1.VOB chapter 1. The crap cells are cells 1 through 22.

After you rip the movie, you can rip the rest in File mode. Then use IFO Edit to correct the VOB navigation. You can also strip the streams at the same time. Open VTS_02_0.IFO and then select "VOB Extras=>Strip steams". It will correct the VOBs and remove unwanted audio/subs.

After that, you can import it into DVD Shrink or use VobBlanker to remove (Blank Out) unwanted material first and then import it into DVD Shrink.

For Bewitched, if you use VobBlanker to blank the Previews, you can do the entire disc and have no compression on the main movie.

Also, it is possible to use a PSL file for Decrypter. There are sites that have them for download or you can make your own using PGCEdit.

Well, might as well jump in and add to the mass confusion of this thread! lol

Both Magic DVD Copier and Magic DVD Ripper ripped Bewitched no problem.

Here's something from a "true newby."

What do you mean by "running the program in the backgroung?"

Do you simply open the "background" program, then open DVD Decrypter to begin the process?

Hi Kieran, here in Toronto they are sold in the Asian Malls and at the weekend flea markets. They go for as little as 3/$20 up to $20 each. Give it a try. Mind you most of these are done by a cam and occasionally someone will stand up or walk across the screen...

Ok, i'm also trying to back up bewitched, but I have used AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink unsucessfully. In DVD Shrink, it does not open the main movie file, its blank for almost 3/4 of the movie, then shows the last 1/4.

In dvd decrypt, it rips to HD, but I can't open with DVD Shrink.

had the same prod with Lords of dog town.

Fustrated beyond all belief, any help is greatly appreciated.

@DVDQS, First make sure you have AnyDVD version 5511. Open AnyDVD then open Shrink and try to rip it again. If ripping with Decrypter, rip in file mode then open those files in Shrink.

I posted this before; I don't use any of the other programs people are using, I'm using disc copier. I worked on Bewitched for over 3 hours until I discovered when I started to copy it in DVD X Copy there was a prefix before the name of the movie. When Using disc copier, I put DVD. before the movie and it copied perfectly. You can try to add this prefix when the title comes up and see if it works.

Let me know.

DVDQS,

AnyDVD should not have a problem with this movie if you have the latest version. However, sometimes these things do act weird.

Try What I posted. IFOEdit has to be run in order to correct the VOB. That is why DVD Shrink will not read the whole movie. Also, it seems like you are using re-author mode. That is not necessary for this movie.

Remember, rip the main movie in IFO mode NOT File mode and NOT ISO mode with Decrypter. Also, you DO NOT need AnyDVD for this method. You will completely skip the ARccoSS protection.

Run DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. It will auto delect the main movie. Now, look at chapter 1. You will notice that there are 24 cells in chapter 1. Cells 1 through 22 are bogus and cells 14 & 15 are unreadable. To speed selecting up, right click on cell 1 and then select "select none". Then go down to cells 23 & 24 and check only those. Now click the "Decrypt" Button. This will rip the main movie files and VTS_02_0.ifo only and skip cells 1 through 22.

Next go into File Mode. First select only the main movie only. Then select "invert selection". Both options can be found in the edit menu. Press "alt" then "e" on your keyboard to expand it or use your mouse. Now press the "Decrypt" button again to rip the rest of the disc.

Next launch IFOEdit. Open VTS_02_0.IFO. Then go to "VOB Extras=>strip streams". Uncheck whatever stream you do not wish to keep. Then click OK. After a few minutes, IFOEdit will correct VTS_02_1.VOB and remove any languages you do not want.

Look through this thread to see how to get rid of the previews.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/248675

Read the last post on the first page.

After you finished removing the previews, you will then need to run DVD Shrink. Only compress the extra features and the main movie will be uncompressed. If you are still having a problems let me know and I could maybe write you a guide or send you the edited IFOs.

Hey, I was wondering about the new sony movies. Is there any other program besides AnyDVD that will crack them? I already used my free trial of AnyDVD, and i like free programs. I already have decryptor and shrink and they can't crack the new movies(Bewitched Lords of Dogtown. Stealth is coming out soon, and it's another sony. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks

DVD Decrypter with the use of PSL2 files.

DVDFab Decrypter

Magic DVD Ripper

Magic DVD Copier

Just to name a few.

DVD Decrypter with the use of PSL2 files and DVDFab Decrypter are the only "free" ones.
