pro evo 4 should work no problem with swap magic as i have tried it and you can just make an exact copy using record now. I burn my games at 4x and they always work. you can also put your backup copies onto a harddrive if you have 1 in your ps2 using swapmagic.
i hope this helps every 1

hello...
I am absolutely NEW to modding PS2. I read through some posts, and it seems that Flip-top is the way to go for modding PS2. I just make sure before I make any purchase. I would like to play Winning Eleven 8(which is japanese version). so all I need to do is get one of this ---> http://www.gocybershop.ca/customer/product.php?productid=161&cat=191&page=1

and mod my US PS2 using it, and I am all set to play japanese version of Winning eleven 8 on US PS2??? thanks in advance for any help.

Not all FlipTop cases are the same, because fliptop produces from three different companies.

I recommended by the sites that included: "memory card doors" and "white disc" so you don't have to transfer the those original parts to the fliptop. since it's pre-installed in the FlipTop case.

Some site offer match price too, I would Google it

I bought my fliptop at www.modmonster.com for a whopping $39.99. I paid a little more than most other places, but it works like a charm, so I'm not bitching too much.

The fliptop case is the same is ps2cover. Those are cheap plastic especially the blue color one. it has a flaw design, the housing of white disc is little bit low, thats why a loud noise when the disc spin, sometime you hae to put a heavy object on top of the lid to make noise go away. and those are case the memory doors and white disc are not included, you have to transfer those parts from your original ps2 to your fliptop case.

I recommended you any sites that include the "MEMORRY DOORS" and "White disc" included. those are the one that works the best. stay away from ps2cover.com and other....

These are the sites that included and preinstall "memory doors" and "white disc", " screw"
but be sure to confirm them again. some sites will match price. and check their service (shipping, reliable....) don't buy from oversea it takes too to ship, unless you bought them before.

ps2fliptop.com
modmonster.com
customps2.com
ebayhotbuy.com
saveware.com

I, unfortunately, bought a cheapo version from Hong Kong and have since trashed it.

Definitely do your homework on what you're buying first so you don't end up like me. I wasted my money and still don't have a useable flip top.

Mine didn't fit 100% correctly, the lid top didn't stay shut, and I had to remove and use my original white disk and memory card covers like some folks mentioned earlier. Mine required using a VERY heavy object such as a book to hold down the lid down before it could even read disks at all. It was so obnoxiously loud and the laser motor worked overtime to try to read the disks. I trashed it in fear of it eventually killing my ps2, and went back to the original case.

I am very unlikely to try any flip top ever again because of my terrible experience. Good luck, and like I said - be sure of what you're buying.

I have mention this before: there are 3 or 4 companies that produce Flip-Top Cases, so all cases are not the same.
Some are having minor issues like:
- Memory doors and White disc not included and not pre-installed
- Memory door does fit when transfer from original case to the FlipTop
- Cheap plastic
Big issue is:
- Flaw design in the housing that hold the whitedisc is low, that can cause a loud noise when disc spin.

don't buy from ps2cover.com (is in HongKong), there more other site too.

Show how do you know which websites to buy:
- If you buy the Flip-Top if it's included and pre-installed Memory Doors, and pre-install White disc than that case is good. because you elimated the minor issues that you don't need to transfer the part over, it's already pre-installed.

- buy the universally flip top case that fit all version between v4-v10, not from v4-v8 or v9-v10.

any sites above should works. But some have better service that other and some some site have better layout than other. one way try to it email them to see how long they response, whoever response the fastest on probadly the best.

Good luck! I just hate to see someone get rip-off, like it happens to me

Hello, I've always bouth from Save-Ware and have not had a coaster Flip-Top Yet. I myself have modded over 8 PS2's for my friends in all sorts of color including the very cool transparent covers. All from Save-ware.com, where they sell the combo of SW disks and cover for @$39.99 with shipping. I believe they are the best!

I go for the Flip-Top case plus the Swap Magic disc.
I do not recommended the Slide-card it will mess up the CD tray gear. see more review on the slide card info here: http://ebayhotbuy.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=27&sid=da8d9a670d35ef2bbb6c22833dc9ca26

hello~
i just got one of those new ps2 (so tiny^^) and i was wondering, is there anything out for the newer ps2's to make it play import games? because everything seems 2 be for the older ones for the disk trays that slide out...unlike the new ones where it just opens up. thank you so much.

u can get a dms4 pro, dms4 lite, a matrix infity with the laser fix, or a crystal chip (the taped down swap method screws the ps2 up after a while).
