I haven't been able to get the game to work either. Chunky with 3.6. Rebuilt or not. It shows the matrix code running down the screen for all of about 10 seconds and freezes indefinitely. I've tried it at multiple burning speeds on Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Memorex, Maxell, and Verbatims.

with SM 3.6, you shouldn't need DVD Loader. What version of SM do you have?

whats the deal...DVD Loader...Using Swap Magic is the whole point of not having to get DVD Loader or any of that other crap...

I rebuilt the image twice still no dice.
I dont know what to do next. Im thinking about just deleting the game and not worrying about it anymore. Been sitting on my hd for like 2 weeks already.

There's probably a dummy file hanging out in one of the folders somewhere, ala Smackdown vs. Raw 2. I know DaveDough is familiar with them, I'll leave the rest up to him. For the rest of you:
49. Q. I'm rebuilding game X, I'm concerned it has dummy files. How do I identify the dummy files?
A. From Hursty: When you see the iso has dummy files.i.e 00DUMMY. 01DUMMY. GARBAGE ETC, you need to get rid of them, by replacing them with a file. So on the desktop, right click the mouse, select "new" > text document and rename it as it appears in isobuster, then click enter. Then open the text document on the desktop, hit space once, then save, this will create a text document with 1 byte in it, Do this for all the dummy files you have, as some games have more than one.

I've been looking through my ISO and I dont see any dummy files in any of the folders.

I've got the normal stuff on the root of the ISO..

System.cnf
PS2 (Folder)
Wad1.DFU
Wad1_B.DFU (which reference sound files in other folders
Common (folder)
Demomovi.txt
movies.txt
SLUS_212.73

Now, in the two folders, there are a bunch of files.

In the PS2 folder, there are subfolders IOP and Sound followed by Lettered folders B through P in random order. The IOP folder has a bunch of .IRX files that are properly named. The sound folder has a few WAD files for... obviously.. sound. All the lettered folders have various .SFD files that have a hexidecimal prefix... so... system files. None of them seem dummy to me.

I'm about ready to realize that I'm not "The One" and I was not meant to hack the matrix.

I burned it straight and it worked for me with SM 3.3. It does get choppy a lot though.

I rebuilt it and it still stutters a tiny bit now and then, but its much better than before and very playable now... Rebuilding should help a lot... Once again, Tokijn, deleting dummy files on some games are going to make it MORE choppy. You really should stop telling everyone that. All you're doing is repeating what you've heard. They are there to space out data a certain way, not for copy protection.

By the way: works after being rebuilt and burned at 2.4x on maxell dvd+r's with swap magic 3.6

I've tried rebuilding, tried straight copy, tried Swap Magic 2.0 with and without DVD Loader. Tried Swap Magic 3.6 Normal and Special Boot (even tho I really dont know what Special Boot does). Tried many many many disks, from various brands and burning speeds and nothing works. It always goes to the matrix code and hangs.

Its a downloaded game, so I wonder if something in the iso got botched. But I've rebuilt and played around with the iso so much that I should have gotten rid of anything that could go wrong.

mine was ripped from an original disc. your iso might be missing something or maybe you didn't rebuild it correctly.

Maybe my rebuilding is diff then yours how did you reuilbd the game if you did rebuild and got it to work.

I went into isobuster copyed the files to my HDD and then used Nero to burn in the same order they were in isobuster.

People can listen to you if you the want Josh. FYI I now have a burner, modchip, and have rebuilt games. It's not hard and if you do make a straight burn with a game that has dummy files it WILL NOT boot with Swap Magic. Notice how this game apparently has NO dummy files, so your point is irrelevant to begin with. Whatever works for you, stick with it. I'm tired of people taking one part of one post twisting it around and bitching about it. That's not what these forums are for. Oh why bother, it always falls upon deaf ears.

Try different media, burn speeds, programs, something. If this is a Dual Layer game, you'd need to burn it to a Dual Layer disc. Even then it wouldn't work with Swap Magic. To get it to work with Swap Magic you'd have to shrink it to a single layer DVD-R. How big is the iso for this game?

I GOT IT TO WORK!!! When i Ripped the DVD using DVD Decrypter, i had 3 files. SLUS something.I00, I01, and an mds file. what i did was change the .I00 and .I01 to .00 and .01. then i used CDVDGEN_ISO BUILDER to merge the two files into one ISO. I burned it on a MAXEL DVD-R at 6X and the game worked great, no stutering in the game and no choppy movie scenes.
