Hi,

Read many good things about AnyDVD so far--but here's my question. I see that slysoft offers free lifetime updates for AnyDVD. Was wondering if anyone could help me determine if that means "lifetime" of your computer...or of the user.

I have an relatively older pc (3 years) and probably will be getting a new one at some point. Will the license enable me to install this on only one computer--or will it allow for more installations.

If anyone knows, pls do tell.

thanks

Hi UWHusky1,

When you purchase AnyDVD the lifetime upgrades are free and you can use the software on any pc you want as long as you have your original license key. Once you purchase it I suggest you save the license in a safe place. Also you might want to get the combo of AnyDVD with clonedvd2 as they work quite well together. Need any more assistance please post back.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Yep,you can simply download it to your new computer like matt72 posted.

There was a special the other week for a $10 discount through slysoft. You had to enter "Afterdawn" into the code for this discount.I don't know if it still applies, but I have seen that special run twice in the last 3 months.

Just open up anydvd/about and click the anydvd and it'll take you to the website. Then click download/look for anydvd and click download arrow that is to the side of anydvd. It'll then download it on top of your older slysoft program. It's current version is 5.5.4.1

Edit, I posted the wrong version, LOL

No problemo!

I get an email when the newest update is available, but if I download it from that site,it does not take hold.It goes through the whole process, but when I click the ? icon, same older version is still present.

I will update it the way I posted from now on,that seems to update better for me.Strange?

Usually about $40. They run a special once in a while for AD members for a $10 discount.

I've had it 2 months and up till last few weeks only needed it a couple time. Last week I needed it on madagascar and today for Stealth.

Others I had to use it on: Lords of dogtown and bewitched, but shrink still wouldn't recognize it.

I just received an email from slysoft. New version 5.5.5.1 is available. I just updated to 5.5.4.1 a couple days ago. This program is updated very regularly! Well worth the money. Even comes in handy to rip dvds and cds on the fly!

I haven't purchased any other software, but this is the only non-free software that I recommend.I used the free trial 3 or 4 times, using 4 different hard drives.

I leave it disabled until I run into a new release that DVD Shrink won't recognize. Then I turn it on and it usually lets DVD Shrink rip away. Also works with many other programs like dvd decrypter/one clicI believe/dvdclone/and x-copy-I believe. No extra step involved.

Go Buckeyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi 4640,

In regards to upgrade vs. update....an upgrade means installing a new software or new pc part. Update means a bug or new feature was fixed//added and all that will do is enhance the current software you have. At least in simplest terms :). Also as a courtesy to folks here could you turn the caps off as some find it as aggressive and it is against the forum rules. Cheers.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Klinger,

I had the same question not long ago (about whether AnyDVD is worth it).

I just recently purchased a license (and this is very rare for me). I've been using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink for sometime now (and consider(ed) those to be two of the finest programs out there. They still are great.

However, I read great things about AnyDVD. So far, I think it's well worth the money (I just used the afterdawn coupon code for $10 off, so it appears that it's still available).

I heard they update the software often (as evidenced by the latest 5.5.5.1 update).

I could count on my fingers, the number of purchased programs on my computer. This one is well worth it.

Downloaded trial AnyDVD and it tells me I don't have a DVD drive. Do I need a separate DVD-ROM or should my burner work in itself? Was going to buy original but I'm not so sure if I can't get it to even install.
