Your scanned is pretty good. Have you ever tried to scan at 4X? All of my 4X scans are better in results than any of my 8X scans. Maybe you should try some 8X DVD+R Taiyo Yuden next time to see what's the results.
Alright folks, here is another awesome scanned, again from the one and only famous YUDEN000T02 (8X DVD+R MADE IN JAPAN) book typing as DVD-ROM. I've just burned this a few hours ago (SAW 2, US version, Region 1). Taiyo Yuden ROCK!!

yes they do~ LOL, very impressive scan btw on your Saw 2...nicely done~
@aabbccdd
Quote: yes they can matter of fact the memorex DL media codes out as Verbatim
actually, no they don't... :) Memorex DL has NEVER used "Verbatim" coding, and by "Verbatim" i am assuming you mean either "MCC or MKM"...simple mistake, but i am here to correct you...
Memorex DL have only been 1 of two manufactuers : Philips or Ritek, Memorex only WISHES they could have Mitsubishi Kaguku Media produce for them, unless things change later, currently, this is NOT the case~ :)
the "Verbatim" media ID code on their DL media is in my sig...it's MKM, as i mentioned above.

Yes, Doc. is right, the Verbatim DVD+R DL is coded as MKM001. I've used over 40 plus, they all played and still plays flawlessly. MKM has never let me down, this baby is a top dog at the moment.

alkohol seems like the 4x scan is about the same as the 8x scan .do you always scan at 4x? and i found something else out my Lite-On burner reads out as a Sony wow i didnt know that Lite-Ons were rebadged Sonys....
still a pretty good score ,might try the dvd plus r format to see if they will do better

I've always scanned mine at 4X, I think with 4X, it's slightly (20% - 30%) better than 8X on my drive.
Here is one of my backup, nearly 4 months old "MADAGASCAR" burned on Verbatim 2.4X DVD+R DL (MKM001).

dvd decrypter by itself (iso read---iso write) or use imgburn for the burning portion of it on DL has proven to work the best for ME~ :)
i've got over 200+ Verbatim DVD+R DLs burned at this point, all of which have been perfect minus a few that i did on my laptop that didn't turn out so good~ LOL (this is a laptop burner issue, not media issue...laptop burners are just NOT AS GOOD as desktop internal burners for DL media - in MY experience and opinion of course) :)

Yeah I just use DVD Decrypter for my DVD-9 backups. Those Verbs are great for DVD-9 PS2 backups, my modded PS2 handles them perfectly. I don't trust any other brand of DL media. Nothing short of TY/Maxell High Grade/Verb's graces the inside of my PS2.

Here is a scan of Spirit Bear i did on the Sony MIT D-21 media. 6x burn with cloneDVD2 used. Not too bad, but Tys come out much better for me.
Im backing down from 8x burns after i saw pixillation and freezing on a copy i made of Imortal, and was watching it on a cheap cyberhome DVD player at a friends house. Now maybe its the player, and maybe im burning too fast. Ill go down to 4x if i have to, but 6x seems like a safe compromise right now. Didnt get around to doing a scan on that copy that froze. Cant seem to find it.
