OK, anyone who has succesfully backed up Lords of Dogtown before doing the main movie only knows that when you play the movie in a standalone player, you have to fast-forward it a tad to play. Otherwise, it just "hangs" there. What I mean is, when the disc loads, the screen will continue to be blank until you fast-forward it a tad to start the movie. Well, the new AnyDVD update was supposed to add better support with this problem, but it didn't work. At least, not for me. I just backed up Lords of Dogtown again using DVD Shrink and the new AnyDVD update and it still "hangs" at the beginning like it did before. AnyDVD still works great, as it always has, but I was hoping that this "hanging" was resolved, but apparently not. Has anyone else tried this yet?

set the settings in DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD like this and try it..

To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated by Olli ->

Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings

I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"

General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"

AnyDVD History

5.7.2.1, 2006 01 01

- Happy new year from SlySoft!
- Important: When installing this version over an existing
installation, you must reboot your machine. Otherwise the changes
made in the AnyDVD device driver will not have any effect!
- New: Improved the function remove unreferenced VOBUs. This fixes
problems with some titles, e.g. "Unstoppable" R2 (German).
- New: Error zones on RipGuard/Arccos/PuppetLock protected titles are
now replaced with "valid material". 3rd party tools like DVDDecrypter
will now work better (no more "Pack Header Error" messages).

- New: Better support of elby CloneDVD2 when copying Arccos or
RipGuard protected titles without Menus:
Eliminates "hang" on standalone DVD Player and Audio "out of sync"
problems.

Lords of Dogtown isn't quite out here yet but i presume what'll i'll do (like i normally do with tricky films) is use DVDFab Decrypter to get entire disc to hard drive, then use DVD Shrink to do the start/end frames ie chop the blank bit at beginning, and use DVD Shrink to shrink the actual movie

Yeah, the start stop frame thingie in Shrink is pretty cool. Sometimes if the movie is real long, I'll chop the end credits to ease the compression ratio.

Cheers.

I ripped "Lords Of Dogtown" 2 months ago with DVDFAB Decrypter, ran it through VobBlanker, "blank" out that FBI Warning shit and transcode/shrink it with Nero Recode 2, then finally burn it with Nero Burning Rom.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

It must be a DVD Shrink thing because I just backed up Lords of Dogtown doing the main movie only using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. No "hanging" whatsoever. Maybe I should start using CloneDVD2 more often. I think I will. Well, at least with DVDs containing the Sony ARccOS protection on them.

I tab it to start a frame or two into the logo.
