I have looked around and have been in the open source/ hacking/cracking /backing up scene for many years, maybe not known to anyone in here and have not posted in here much but i do see a ton of people with the smarts to get around things. I see a lot of complaining about laws blah, blah, blah , but i don't see a lot of open source good progs coming out helping the average Joe. AnyDVD is the King right now and DVD43 lags behind in updates(because its free). I know there are many consumer progs out there that are good so please don't get me wrong. Where is the consumer help? I can goto many forums and look into Linux GNU software and I will find thousands of replys on how what to or what needs to be done to do something. When i search around for DVD copying software DVD Shrink (a free prog) still comes up as one of the best, Even though the author went to work for Nero and it is not updated. DVD Decrypter is in the same catagory as being the best for free. In my opinion and i know that may not go far, we need to get a good open source DVD ripper/copy program in the works. If it is open source there is not much anyone can do about it, just kinda floats around the net with nobody to blame but gets updated as often as possable by many annonomous programers. I know some VB, C and C++. Anyone got any ideas?
