@cifon......do you have umdemulator in your psp root directory also? You should read the instructions carefully on the first part of this thread and your root directory should look like this:

@cifon........you got the configuration right. try downloading a different umdemulator program. you could have downloaded a bad program. try the one at www.psp-hacks.com

Hi i had a couple ?'s bout downgradin my psp. First has anybody had any major issues wit doin that cuz if the odds of this workin and not causin
alot of probs is good then i will do it and i know its all at my own risk. Second ? is the UMD emulator v0.8c and Dev 0.22 apps do they play
games with a higher fireware like 2.50 and if so does anyone know the games that can be played on it.

@spydah...
With your question regarding downgrade, there is almost no way you get messed up. the process may scare you since the complete bar will never get to 100%, STILL THERE IS NO PROBLEM, the downgrade will still work fine.
In regards of the second question, UMDEMULATOR and DEVHOOK will not make 2.01, 2.5 nor 2.06 games work on a 1.5 psp. There are no emulators for versions higher that 1.5. sorry to tell you...

@sean12... Im really sorry to tell you this but until now there is no downgrader of version 2.01 to 1.5. The ony downgrader availabe is for 2.00 to 1.5. Im sorry... you'll have to wait until a new downgrader appears.
@spydah... You will have the same problem as sean12. there is no downgrader for 2.50 availabele yet. Really sorry as well. You will have to wait until it is available.

I have PSP firmware version 2.5 and i am trying to play homebrew games using eloader_BETA, I have GTA aswell, but i dont know how to make it work, if anyone knows how to make it work then please let me know.

@jonnypot... you CAN NOT play ISOs on a 2.0 PSP version. The only way you can do that is by downgradeing your PSP from 2.0 to 1.5. ISOS WILL ONLY WORK ON VERSION 1.5. AND THE ONLY DOWNGRADE AVAILABLE IS THE ONE FROM 2.0 TO 1.5

@ gwadhwa.........go to www.psp-hacks.com they have a nice guide there and I've seen a guide in the forum also. Use search people. It wouldn't kill you to use it.

THIS IS A MESSAGE FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE AKSInG ABOUT DOWNGRADEING:
1. THe ONLY downgrade available will downgrade a PSP version 2.00 to a PSP version 1.50. If you are interested in this downgrade you will find it here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
2. PSP versions 2.01 , 2.50 and 2.60 CAN NOT BE DOWNGRADED BECAUSE THER IS NO DOWNGRADER AVAILABLE FOR THIS VERSIONS.
3. If you have a version 1.52 or 1.53 you will have to UPGRADE MANUALLY to a 2.0 and then downgrade to 1.50. DO NOT UPGRADE AUTOMATICALLY BECAUSE YOU PSP WILL AUTOMATICALLY UPGRADE TO VERSION 2.60
4. The ONLY version which can run ISO's is PSP version 1.50. PSP version 2.00, 2.01, 2.50 and 2.60 will not run ISO's
PLEASE DO NOT ASK MOR QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS TOPIC, READ THIS BEFORE ASKING!

Hello everybody.I'm a newbie here,but I have read through quite a few threads,and followed the instructions accurately.Unfortunately the .ISO's don't load.
I think the problem I have is quite rare,as I don't see version 1.0 firmware mentioned much at all.
I got my PSP as an import (to the UK)from hong kong,shortly after they became availible,and it's a version 1.0.
PLEASE please can someone give me an idea of what I might be doing wrong.I got the impression that version 1.5 and below were ok to run .ISO's, but even when I've installed all the loaders (UMDEM V0.8c,DEVHOOK 022 and FASTLOADER V0.7) I still get no joy.
My main questions at this stage would be:
1. Is there something I should know specifically regarding version 1.0 firmware (ie: A different process to follow?)
2. Do I place the .ISO game/file,into the ISO folder(on PSP),as it is.Or do I extract the 2 files within (PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN),into the ISO folder.
3. When I press the circle button on the UMDEMULATOR V0.8c loader,in the game memory stick (on PSP menu),all that happens is it restarts back to the menu.How do I access the DIRECT LOAD/COPY LOAD/SYSTEM options?
If someone can help me with my problem,I would be hugely grateful,as I'm starting to get frustrated.

@groundbob... Hi man... Ill answere your questions one by one.
1) Im sure you must beable to make ISOs work on version 1.00. Maybe it involve a different process but I know nothing about it. Something you may want to do is to upgrade your PSP MANUALLY up to 1.5 which is POSSIBLE. Althoug ISOs should work on your PSP it may be easier to understand or follow instructions if you upgraded to 1.50. (By the way, notice that in devhook for example there is a folder for version 1.5: FW15 and one for version 1.00: FW10)
2) When putting your ISOs into the PSP you have to put the ENTIRE file into the ISO folder in ther root directory of you PSP. The entire file meaning the file which once OPENED you will find the PSP_GAME folder and the UMD_DATA.BIN file) DO not put these tow files separately, the MUST BE PUT TOGETHER IN ONE UNIQUE FILE.
3) When you start UMDEMULTOR what do you see? You should see and option called ISO EMULATION MODE which can be changed. this option sets the emulation to DIRECT LOAD, COPY LOAD or SYSTEM MENU. If you do not have this option you are useing a wrong UMDEMULATOR version: INSTEAD OF V0.8c YOU ARE USEING V0.8. Try downloadeing the newest version and you will find the ISO EMULATION MODE option.
ALSO REMEMBER:
- THE EMULATION MUST BE STARTED WITH AN UMD DISK INSIDE THE PSP
- CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK WITH THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD THAT THE FODLER ARRANGEMENT IS CORRECT. If it isn't the game will not work!!

@groundbob... almost foreget:
In oreder to upgrade your PSP to Frameware version 1.5 Create an UPDATE folder inside the PSP/GAME fodler of your PSP and add the 1.5 EBOOT which you can download from here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4 . Once you have added the file go back to the PSP menu and start start the UPGRADE. Make sure you PSP batery is fully charged and that it is chargeing during the upgrade!!
