I have not had any trouble with copying dvd's with AnyDvd or Clone DVD2 until this morning. I received a warning from AnyDVD
1. DVD media is dirty, you can try to clean it
2. Dvd Media is damaged, you have to replace it.
3. Your drive is a region locked RPD2 drive which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors froma different region and you try to read a DVD from a different region. Known drives having this problem are RICHO/PHILIPS DVD writers and Matshita/Panasonic DVD readers and writers.
You can try to find a RPC1 patch firmware at http://www.rpc1.com.
4. Your drive is a RPC2 drive that has not yet been assigned a Region. Try to assign on, or try to find a RPC1 patched firmware at http://rpc1.com. WHAT in the WORLD does that mean???? phew!!! thank you anyone for your assistance.

1. DVD media is dirty, you can try to clean it
Meaning your dvd media is dusty, try to wipe it with clean cloth.
2. Dvd Media is damaged, you have to replace it.
Meaning your dvd media is a crapped media like memorex which are having bad sector or CRC error. Choose verbratim or taiyo yuden or maxell that are made in japan to be on the safe side lol...
3. Your drive is a region locked RPD2 drive which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors froma different region and you try to read a DVD from a different region. Known drives having this problem are RICHO/PHILIPS DVD writers and Matshita/Panasonic DVD readers and writers.
Right click on the red fox choose setting click on the tab dvd make sure under the heading Feature remover all the setting are check.
4. Your drive is a RPC2 drive that has not yet been assigned a Region. Try to assign on, or try to find a RPC1 patched firmware at http://rpc1.com. WHAT in the WORLD does that mean???? phew!!! thank you anyone for your assistance.
Double click on the icon computer choose your dvd drive right click on it choose property choose hardware tab highlight your drive icon and choose property click dvd region and from there choose your region. Note you must at least choose one region.
You can try to find a RPC1 patch firmware at http://www.rpc1.com.
Meaning you are a old dvd writer which your firmware had not been updated. Use this http://www.rpc1.com. to find your suitable firmware and from there flash your firmware with it.
With all these steps I think you should have no problems in the future and happy backup...

5.8.3.1 seems to correct the issue for me using CloneDVD2 althought the change log doesn't mention fixing it.

Hi All,

I have sony vaio pcg-frv28 with Matshita uj-810 cd rw/dvd writer with update driver. I purchased 1click dvd copy/DVD43-free. But, not able to copy the dvd which CSS protected. So, I purchased the AnyDVD 5.8.4.1. As per the previous communication, cleaned the disc and took all the intrustructions. So, I tried with "DVDRegionFree", but able to copy the disc but, not able play the dvd files/dvd on laptop .

AnyDVD keeping giving the same below warning mesg with AnyDVD.

1. DVD media is dirty, you can try to clean it
2. Dvd Media is damaged, you have to replace it.
3. Your drive is a region locked RPC2 drive which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors froma different region and you try to read a DVD from a different region.

Please, kindly guide me here to get it done.

Thanks in advance.

To be able to play dvd file you must have the necessary software. Do your laptop have the necessary software? You cannot run DVD43 and AnyDVD together or else it will crash. You must buy dvd media like verbratim, taiyo yuden, maxell. Do not use unknown dvd media like longsten, or even imitation, momerux or tdk. Experience people will know these are all crapped dvd media.
Do not use 1click dvd copy if you are not familar with it. Use DVD Shrink instead. DVD Shrink is a free software and easy to use and you can download from afterdawn. With DVD Shrink and AnyDVD or clonedvd2 with AnyDVD almost nothing is imposible. I suggest you uninstall 1click and DVD43 and leave AnyDVD alone.
Download DVD Shrink from afterdawn and give it a try. Remember to delete your dvd files from your harddisk if you dont use them becos DVD Shrink will copy all your dvd files into your harddisk. Do defrag your harddisk occasionally. Update your firmware from here http://www.rpc1.com. ie find the correct firmware for your dvd writer and flash it. Ensure it is the correct one or else it will spoil your dvd rewriter.Double click on the icon computer choose your dvd drive right click on it choose property choose hardware tab highlight your drive icon and choose property click dvd region and from there choose your region. Note you must at least choose one region. Use this link to download DVD Shrink http://www.dvdshrink.org
