Hi, as far as I can tell this is the best forum for this question. I'm trying to burn Dark Water however DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter won't work on their own. I've already read that I need to use AnyDVD, however my trial version is up & even when I tried to install a full version of it, I still get the Trial Completed screen. Is there a way to figure out what registry keys I need to delete to get it working?

You can always try a reg cleaner such as the free CCleaner, or the free ripper DVDFab Decrypter which should handle this movie.

Thanks arniebear, I'll try that reg cleaner. Heard good things about DVD Fab as well so may go that route. Appreciate the links!

Use DVD43 it's about as good an AnyDVD.

When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you have served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.

Well, going to look @ DVDFab and those other options since the CCleaner didn't do the job...though it got rid of 579MB of other crap in my system. :)

DVDFab Decrypter is the most up to date ripper and will do the new protections. DVD43 does work like AnyDVD although it is not updated as often as it should be, and some comp systems do have problems with it. However, it is also a good program. You also could try a system restore back to before you installed AnyDVD sometimes that removes the file from the registry.

Don't know if there is still a discount for AnyDVD running at AD yet, but next time it comes up you may want to think of purchasing it is really a good program :)

Well, unfortunately none of the above mentioned programs were able to decrypt Dark Water, and I can't afford the AnyDVD license at the moment... the good news though, I was looking to format my HDD this week anyway, so I should be able to run AnyDVD again for 21 days or whatever the trial period is.

Just wanted to thank you guys/gals. After reading through a few threads I was able to successfully backup a dvd the first time I tried using AnyDVD and clone verbatim DVD+R. With 4 kids and a wack of movies $$$, thats a big deal to me.

Next trial will be ps2 games lol.

BDavid81,

I have a copy of Dark Water in my brief case (I'm at work). As I recall, I used DVD Decrypter to decrypt it, and DVD Shrink to shrink it, then DVD Decrypter to burn it. These are freeware. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

I only recently learned of DVDFab and VOBblanker, so I know I didn't use them to burn this movie. What kind of problems are you having?
