ok thanks for the site, so before you can softmode you need the newest MS dashboard right? is it easier to get from xbox live or just buy splinter cell 2 for like 4 bucks. i have a XBL account but its on my 360. hey thanks for the help you guys are great.

Take Halo 2 or another recent XBL game and put it in your Xbox. Make sure your Xbox is disconnected from the internet. Load the game up, go to Xbox Live on the Start Menu. If your Xbox Dash is not up-to-date, it will take you to your MS Dash and update for you.
I'll be including these steps into the tutorial as soon as I get done with another softmod tutorial.

When i go to mechassault's campaign and to "Run Linux", it says
Controls: unknown
Difficulty: unknown
current level: unknown
and when i select it it says "unable to load <run linux>"
...or something to that effect
My dashboard is updated and i followed the instructions EXACTLY
do I have too early a version?

ok so i used a flash drive to put the files onto my xbox but it gave me some error like i didn't insert it right and it deleted the flash drive and now the flash drive doesnt show up in my computer, i tried with a different flash drive and the same thing happened but i was able to re-format that one. so what im wondering is how can i fix the flash drive and how can i use it to put the files on my xbox? and also, the flash drive was formated in fat32, would that have anything to do with it? do i need an NTSC flash drive? thanks

by the way, the flash drive that is still broken is a lexar safty and the flash drive that is fixed is a sandisk cruzer micro.

how can it be possible? nobody can play burnt games on a unmodded xbox because the secuirty on the xbox would say hmmmm this is not the right password nope you cant go on >>> aka UNSIGED CODES!!! so no you must softmod it or chip it , it only takes 3 mins to softmod it

mabby you can help me i downloaded evox dashboard and then it was fine the next day i got on it and was gonna uninstall it and my linux file was gone and i created backups than i went to halo 2 and all my profiles were gone so it cleared my harddrive somehow i beleieve and i dont no how to get evox dash off i need help im gonna mod halo 2 so is it worth it to fix also my MC dashboard is red and i cant click on it and how do u burn games onto the harddrive with evox

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but will this soft mod allow back up (burnt) games to play on the X-Box?? Or will it just work for the games listed??

if i remember correctly, yes u can play backed up games, i think its ps2 taht u cant play backed up?? or the other way around. anywho use the software craxtion.

can someone help me out i did everthing the tut said but on splinter cell when i go to check points it goes to a black screen and the xbox light turns orange and i let it sit there for a while bt it dident do anything can someone tell me what to do?

once a xbox is softmoded it can do pretty much evertying just like a modchip . if you get a black screen and orange led then maybe ur dash is outdated and or your files get currpted

to backup games your going to have to look into buying a bigger hd since the stock one can only fit about 4 to 6 gb which leads to 0 to 4 games... it all depends on each game , like halo 2 wont fit .
you can back 'em up to a blank DVDR but if you want 2 pop 'em to hd then get a new one . u do not need a chip to upgrade hd
. to fix this just check what ms dash ver you have ,retry to put the exploits etc etc ..

ok im buying the stuff on wensday
can i use the soft mod to play back ups from a disk not the hd
i dont like the idea of playing from hard drive
i like to play from disk
yes i have back up disk's i like to use them all
and i dont need xbox live at all i play online with kai link
is it possable to play back up disk with the soft mod?

of course bro you can play it off a disc ..... However put into the hard drive is 100x the enginuius 1 of the reason why everyone does it ....
with no loading or hardly any that is a huge advanage you can always delete and or FTP it to the pc incase u ran out of space just for those quick times ....
another reason is that you can burn a disc as quick as 3 mins and that it the enitre game inside.... and another one is that to make it to a disc you have to FTP from xbox to pc then find a good quality dvd disc ..>>>>> because a cdr will not fit 99% of the games lol and even if it did most dvd drives dont take it .
and so the cost of dvds and your time and not having coasters and having the game load forever is not worth it.... and ur going to scratch the disc as well
so i find it that buying a hard drive when its on sale it defo pays off ....
but first things first lets concetrate on softmoding ur box first

I'm having a problem FTP'ing from PC to XBOX, I need some serious one-on-one help. I softmodded my xbox using the Splinter Cell Exploit. I backed up my files and now I'm using Evox. I'm trying to use a 10/100 Dynex Switch to FTP to my Xbox. I use the same ip address and everything using Flash FXP. It says I'm connected but loses or in some cases refused the connection. I'm looking at all these tuts, and foryms but nothing seems to work. I just want to transfer Emulators and roms to it. I would appreciate if someone could help me.

use my FTP tut under my sig , evox is very very buggy when it comes to FTP and most csaes this is the problem . also if you set ur static to dhcp it should help but if ur connecting and disconnecting i think this is a evox issue, would recommend to switch to unleash x .
alto this is a softmod mod tut you could of pm someone .... hope my tut helps

Gus, How do i set it to DCHP through EvoX? Do I just set the static IP off? And do you have an instant message name on Aim (or even yahoo)
