i got banned, and i only have an EvoX softmod. still haven't figured out how they got me though, i didn't even get online once after i softmodded. o, and i'll ask this question again: does anyone know software to copy DVDs to my xbox?

xEzekielx : if you use anything that is not retail meaning any mods or evox in this case you get banned ....
to get these exploits correctly transferd they must be .rar or .zipped depending on how it came conpressed.....
as for copying dvds , install dvd2xbox and pop a dvd and you can play the dvd via xbmc ( xbox media center) but its the same boat , the stock hard drive WILL NOT fit a dvd .... most dvd are DVD9 or in this case dual layer ... DVD9 are over 6 gb which of your xbox does not have space for a dvd , even if you have space it sucks watcing burned dvd on xbox cuz you cannot fast foward otherwise the enitre movie freezes and you have to watch it from begagning .. similsir to vhs but with LESS options then vhs SO it sucks

okay gus, (or anybody) i really need help right now. I tried to softmod my xbox and somehow i screwed it up. if I try to booy without a disk i don't get the MS dash i get the number 13 in the upper lefthand corner followed by "call the microsoft something rather". but if i boot with splintercell in the tray and start game LINUX i can get to the options and such, but heres where the biggest problem comes in: I click restore MS backup and it looks like it works with the loading bar but then it pops up with "error and error occured while copying 'E'. error code: 112" so it won't copy all those files back so i can start up the MS dash. then i try to do the uninstall softmod and before the loading bar even comes up it says: "failure batch process failed. the last item was: E\BACKUP IS MODDED. action: rename" so i'm unsure what to do. I tried to FTP to my xbox using a crossover cable direct from my pc to xbox but i can't connect. any help would be greatly appreciated i tried to make this as detailed as possible. and i need help ASAP as this is the family xbox and i would prefer the damage be fixed before anybody notices

13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
The error it gives is because of the incompatibility between the (older) dashboard (4920) that older slayer cd installs and the new dashboard/kernel versions found in some new xbox's and found in xbox's that have been connected to xbox live (when you go on xbox-live, it'll upgrade your dashboard file to i believe it is now 5659.03. This dasboard is incompatible with the dash that (old) slayer cd installs (for example 2.5 or lower) for you.
(In detail, in the eeprom chip there is a kernel which is incompatible with the dashboard (4920) that slayer installs.)
So what do you do to fix it? You can use the dashupdate found on most new xbox games! Be sure to 1st unplug your ethernet cable before you do so!!!
Besides that, just use a good installation disc and all is fine. Use a 2.6 slayer or something similar

ok, guys, i'm stumped. i just bought a brand new Seagate 120Gb hard drive yesterday and tried to run xboxHDM on it. i put the eeprom.bin in the right folder and made the iso. when i try to unlock the xbox HDD though, it says it doesn't know how to do this or something. any ideas?

shakezila : ok so lets see how the heck did you ended up with a dash error? what step did you skiped?
if you can still run linux once your on linux go to settings then network settings put it to dhcp acquire your ip info and run FlashFXP and you should be connected , once that is achived FTP a fresh clean ms dash to C on the xbox... EXTRACTED... so it should overwrite w/e is in there , WARNING if you turn off the xbox while its ftping on C then your xbox will end up with error 21 , BUT nobody would turn it off while its ftping ... so you should be fine
NOTE : slayers is gone so dont think of slayers insted think of AID 3 ....
onthedge : ok so you bought your hd , you d/l xboxhdm1.9 extracted it transferd a FRESH MS DASH on C folder? then eeprom.bin on EEprom folder? make iso win burn iso run linux did you let it create it ?
or what steps did you do or are trying to do ????? why do you want to unlock it ?

thanks, but it didn't help i popped in halo 2 (wasn't connect to the internet) and clicked sign into xbox live and then clicked troubleshoot and it just reset and went right back into halo. the dashboard is still missing, should i call xbox troubleshoot and repair?

look dude its an easy fix , just dont panic thats for 1 , 2) you get much more help from www.xbox-hq.com/html for the fact that they have all resourful free links and such , but its an easy one bro , just go over there make a free account and make a thread under newbie and explain to them and they gladly help you out,

smash22: the best dash is unleash x . not only its newbie friendly but it has all that evox is plus more.. u cant go wrong with unleash x ... I HAVE the latest ms dash under my signiture ....
shakezila: what error do you get when your trying to FTP? and you are using FlashFXP right? sometimes static over dhcp makes a huge diffrense , also how are you networked? wired router or what?
and does your xbox glow green from the back when its connected to the cable?
you can press Y to see status if a connection is beind active durring FTP process
BUT you can also go to xbox hq .. they help out better TRUST ME ON THIS ONE .... and sid 4 came from the very own creator nknave and hes over there too ....

I am using FlashFXP, and the error is simply that it cannont connect. my network is a wireless router for my computer that i am using right now (my laptop) and i direct connected my xbox to my pc using a crossover cable

does it glow green in the back? if not and the the stauts does not come out either then you might have a bad network adapter...
press Y to see if any FTP status is active... of course when your attemping this . again go to xbox hq 10+brains think more then 1
alot of times its network settings sometimes its hardware wires or bad network adapter.... go to xboxhq

Sounds like a software problem, like a firewall blocking it access, or network settings not configured properly.

onthedge: tie up your computer???? if you unlock a softmoded xbox you have a brick box.... what are you tryin to clone??? do it the correct way .. yes you would have to re mod it but your doing it the correct way , d/l xboxhdm.1.9 extract it put a clean ms dash on C put the eeprom.bin on eeprom folder burn iso run the iso on pc ( have pc hd removed) enter into xboxhd then build new hd from scrratch ( takes a min or so ) then after its done partitioning and formating restart it then go to xboxhd then 3 and lockhd -a and voila pop it back on xbox ... note theirs a space then - a ..
shakezila: your ip should appear on the tv screen once connected transfer ms dash from pc ( use my link under signiture) to C folder on xbox ... note you must extract it before transfering it .

gus, i tried to transfer that file (after i un-rared it) and it finished, so i reset my xbox and it does the same thing, then i connect to it again with FlashFXP and it says the folder is empty, what am i doing wrong? i'm thinking about just burning AID and using that to install a fresh MS dash
