Let me start by saying I really like AnyDVD. But, I wanted to know why, when I checked 'remove annoying adverts and trailers', they appeared in my burning software anyway. This was their answer:

Hi,

This feature does not work on all DVDs.

Best regards,

No special significance to this post, besides the fact that someone else might be wondering what this "feature" does.

I think you need to remove the part with your email addy and reg key, there are a lot of spammers and people who will steal that number :)

the remove adverts and trailers option applies to the software that you use to play the dvd on your computer. for example, if i turn off that option, upon putting in a dvd in the drive (if autorun is enabled), i will get all the fbi warnings and commercials that will startup at the begining of that dvd. even if autorun is disabled, upon startup of the movie, i'll get all the fbi warnings and commercials before the menu comes up. with this option active, i have 2 choices, either jump all that junk and take me directly to the main movie or the dvd menu. it doesn't seem to apply to the actual backing up of a movie. you will have to manually remove those during the backing up process.

as far as for the reply, i do notice that on some dvds, this option does remove what it says it removes and on others, it doesn't. but if you are really set on removing all these extras, then use the burning software to do so.

If you have that option checked, like I do, the screens/files/folders of the trailers etc., will still appear in Clone, Shrink, or whatever else you use to rip it to the HDD. But once you burn it (mind you, after it has completely been ripped to the HDD), and play it on a DVD player, it'll jump to whatever you have it set to (for me, it's to the title menu).

Here's the process for me:

AnyDVD is always running, with that option checked. I insert the DVD. Shrink/Rip it to the HDD. Burn with Decryptor and 90% of the time, it will always jump to the title menu--with the other 10% (most likely Sony DVDs) either stopping or going directly to the movie.

Well, let me close the topic. FIRST, I should have realized that I was posting a serial number and making a lot of hackers happy. Second, no matter what I set AnyDVD to, the adverts and trailers appear in the burning software. I'm guessing that they only vanish when I'm watching on my PC. I really like AnyDVD, so I'm not dissing them. I was hoping that someone would chime in and say "you missed such and such."

Your help and comments are always appreciated.

MOST of the time AnyDvd will remove trailers, etc. if you have it set as such.

However, if you have included all the titlesets in CloneDVD2, my feeling is this would override the settings in AnyDVD? Did you uncheck the trailers, etc. in CloneDvd2? These could be the dvds that start off with some of the trailers/coming soon to theatres/dvd. If you look in the special features menu, you will see MANY more trailers that were not shown at the beginning. I have a feeling that these are the dvds that are causing you to question whether AnyDVD is doing it's job.
