Most certainly feel new to this kind of thing! haha. Not used to tapping into the ps2. Did it for PC but it's completely different.
Took me three days to work out how to get a downloaded "option file" for pro evo 6 onto my memory card! haha.
Done it now though... thanks to Swap Magic (which I reluctantly admit is better than I slated it earlier... was just annoyed haha).

i have a quick question?..my uncle is goin to send me a backup of PES6(pro evolution soccer2007) FROM chile. and im wondering if im goin to b able to play it using Swap magic 3.8??...pls...anyone.

What format is the game from Chile? And what format console have you got? With Swap Magic, you can change between NTSC and PAL formats. But whether it displays the picture correctly or not also depends on your TV.

ooh ok..so it depends on my TV? well i use NTSC ..and i have read that PAL is for european games so..i guess thier should'nt be any problem working a south american import than..thanx alot for that..

Yes, since you have a slim PSTwo, ask for the Magic Switch and not the Slide Tool.
You can't use Swap Magic to play backup PS1 games. It's only for backup PS2 CDRom and DVDRom games. By the way, you should be able to play backup movies without Swap Magic.

can any1 tell me how to actually use swap magic dvd disc ver. 3.8 plus. I brought it off modchip.com - they rip me off with over-priced item{those freaking b@stard}. Didn't come with instruction at all. If any1 know how to use swap disc to load backup DVDR games, can u guys provide me with a step to step tutorials. I am a newbee at this. I got the newest ver. of ps2 slim..i think it is 7700.

I don't have a slim PS2 so I can't go into much detail, but from what I've heard, you need the Magic Tool which allow you to keep the PS2 lid open so that you can swap for your backup game. Do you have this Magic Tool? If you have, and have placed them in their correct places (see this link for diagrams)

then all you need to do is put in your SwapMagic disc (use the CD disc if you want to load PS2 CDRom games, or use the DVD disc if you want to load PS2 DVD games), let that boot up, then swap it for your backup game.

Trust me on this if you have to get the tools get the magic keys II. I have never installed them before it took me maybe 3 mins and it works like a charm and like lackyno said all you do after that is play swap magic then...(here's the hard part) swap it like it's magic.

CODER sucks....if your going the swap disk route go with 3.6+....which by the way I HATE! All i want to do is play Rogu Galaxy....guess DVD9 support is too much to ask :(

I dont buy that BS for a damn second....if it was true EVERYBODY would just dl a SM 3.6 image file and do whatever is necessary to put it on a usb stick...just like the noobs that say SM can play DVD9 without problems, this is total poo.

That does seem to make sence. Plus, even if you could, you'd still need some other sort of disc to run it because the PS2 doesn't automatically check the USB ports when you first turn it on.

I realize now my comment wasnt too clear, what I meant was SM 3.6 has the ability to boot other things off USB not that it itself was able to be booted (even though I suppose it could if you have something like ARMAX that has an ELF loader).
