Sounds fake. I would steer clear of that. If I were you, you should buy from a retailer that you trust. I think if you try ebay, you are taking too big of a risk of getting fakes. Your decision though.

Hey i just bought one from an amazon.co.uk\seller. The site i wouldnt think would allow fakes but im not sure bout this 1. The inscriptions at the back feels engraved not printed. The package seems very genuine as it has that multicolered sony sticker. I also checked the production date it says 2004 sony japan so these might be the older batch of originals.

Transfer speeds?
Anyone got any data, ive checked my card against the tutorial and am really not sure it looks good against all the checks however it shows as 1939mb in psp and no mention of this in guide and i can fill this too.
i have transfered files over and just seems slow so wondered if anyone has anything to check against. For some reason it is much faster at transfering via connection to the usb port than it is inserting the card direct into my built in multi card reader in laptop. Strange id have thought the card reader would have been faster.
black eye peas album - 103mb ** 51 seconds ** via psp usb2 and 1.08s via card reader.
Burn out iso - 477mb ** 3.41 ** via usb2 and 4.47 via card reader
is this normal? just seems slow to me and i am forever waiting for files to transfer over.

who are you talking to xlang? I think you need to settle down a little! I think those transfer times sound about right jamo9000. I wish they were a little faster too, but I don't think the PSP really takes advantage of the HIGH SPEED that is labelled on the MS's. It's supposed to transfer up to 160 MB/s. Hopefully that helps.

I Just got mine and you really can't tell the difference by looking at it. My memory card is not thicker or anything pertaining to that. In fact the only way you can tell the difference is by feeling the writing at the back and noticing that it is not raised, plus the fact that the packaging didn't have any vertical heat seals at the top.
However, you can defintely tell it is fake when it comes to operation, it shows 1959 mb of data but can only hold a little beyond 800 mb. Anything you put on the memory card is simply read as corrupted data. Keep away from ebay buying stuff like this, get it from a reputable firm or something.

Yes, they most likely are legit, because they claim they have genuine sticks. Since it's easy to tell if a memory stick is genuine or fake, ebayers who claim that their memory sticks are genuine when they are fake can be punished easily. Be careful of the auctions that are careful not to state any claims that the memory sticks are genuine sony or sandisk.

How about the memory stick packages below? Can you tell which one is real and which is fake? or all are fake?

The seller is asking for $45 (no adapter included) on ebay.

This one costs $42 (no adapter included) on ebay.

This one looks pretty like the 1st one. The seller is asking $70 (including adapter).
