Doesn't DVDFab decrypter do the same job as AnyDVD?

DVDFab Decrypter will only rip the files and can handle the newest copy protections. Once ripped you will then need to use your program(s) of choice to compress and then burn the files. Another + is it's free.

AnyDVD just runs in the background and can be used w/ shrink, recode etc. So one step can be taken out. It also can handle the latest copy protections but it's not free.
It also comes with a ripper that can repair defective dvd's.

After rereading my post I should clarify the 'repair defective dvd's' bit. The ripper will fix problem files while ripping them - like mastering defects placed on some dvd's to try & stop them from being ripped.

You can also use AnyDVD along with a video capture card to convert your old copy protected VHS tapes to DVD ...

I have newest version of AnyDVD and I purchased it but it sucks I was completely satisfied till I tried to re-copy a backup because I was gonna lend a movie out but didn't want to lend the original or my back-up (on account of there perfect condition) I have always used slysoft programs and I have burned alot of movies 1200+ to give you an idea never ran into problems till now but I have never re-copied a copy before... anyways I am rambling and this thread is not for support but what I was gonna get to my point lol. If you run current version and purchase ANY DVD it pays for itself in no time. plus I had a cracked copy of an older version which I only recently was forced to update but my mom uses the crack copy and she has only found two movies that it wont decrypt... well thats my two cents!

All these movies! and not a single use for any of them!

there's no encryptions to remove from a copy and what was a useful discussion thread is marred by talk of cracked copies of software...

@VVhitey - you'll need more than 2 cents if Mr. Policeman catches you

all i use to copy a copy is to use copy/paste of the video_ts folder in windows explorer then burn via Nero. The point is that AnyDVD nor anything else is needed for copying copies...

@ChrisC586 - no apologies necessary..was just keeping myself ontopic instead of just commenting on the other poster's crack comment
