Hey can someone here effectively contact AnyDVD support i.e E-mail, Below a claim is made in the new version of AnyDVD 5.9.5.3 that says VOB Blanker "Should" no longer be needed. Excited about this claim I immediately pulled out my original copy of Menace II Society and attempted to back up this movie well known for it's "Invalid DVD Navigation Structure". I, like many for a long time, could not back this movie up because of this error. Along came Vob Blanker and ended my whoes and successfully backed up an other wise impossible to copy movie.

Vob Blanker can do this in "Auto" mode with no trouble at all, "Very Impressive". Unfortunately AnyDVD which I use and rely on fell short of their claim to match the capabilities of Vob Blanker. I do wish to see AnyDVD make good on this claim and work to fix invalid VOBU's as soon as possible and perhaps reference this film as a guide or reference. If anyone knows how to get through to AnyDVD support, please advise them of my observation, I'm sure they will work to fix this error "Navigation Structure out of bounds" is what I believe the eError reads when attempting to back up this title using NERO 6 Recode2 or the latest version of CloneDVD2.:p

AnyDVD History

5.9.5.3, 2006 04 04
- Fix: Bug introduced in 5.9.5.2, on some DVDs title sets could
be accidently deleted (AnyDVD mistook them as decoys from the newest
SONY ArccoS protections)
- Updated languages

5.9.5.2, 2006 04 03
- New: Added support for new versions of the Sony Arccos protection
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- New: Structural protection removal has been significantly enhanced,
protected cells are now completely removed from the beginning of
the protected titles (ArccoS, PuppetLock & MacroVision RipGuard protections).
This greatly improves compatibility with 3rd party tools like DVDShrink,
Nero Recode and others. Using additional tools like VobBlanker should no
longer be required.
- New: Added automatic removal of bogus program chains from title sets
- New: Added automatic removal of bogus title sets
- New: Added option to remove unreferenced and blank cells to the
AnyDVD ripper (enabled by default)
- New: Added vertical scrollbar to the information window
- Change: Safe mode is now enabled by default after a fresh installation.
- Fix: Incorrect decryption after wake up from S3 power saving
- Fix: Incorrect drive speed after wake up from S3 power saving
- Fix: Some bad sector protections were removed even if the option
to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors" was disabled
- Fix: Jump to main title did not work, if source disc contained one
small title, e.g. a short video clip
- Some minor fixes and improvements
- Added persian language
- Updated languages

N2DVD,
Go to their support forum and Look for James @ Slysoft as he is the point man you need. AnyDVD uses FixVTS. FixVTS is an excellent program but it is not VobBlanker as you can do more w/ VobBlanker as it is more powerful but FixVTS will correct the structural problems.

Check your PM

N2DVD,
Sorry but I forgot to tell you that you have to rip the disk to HD using AnyDVD and then it will use FixVTS to correct the structural problem. Right click the foxes head on the taskbar and then click on rip to HD

Thank U CarMike, I've been asking that question to arniebear for a couple weeks, couldn't get a peep out of em? Ok, it all makes sense now. If I need to I'll try that option as this ripping to hard drive option would probably take just as long (Which is not long at all) as VOB Blanker. Anyway I'm overall impressed with AnyDVD so much so that I really don't see a difference in the upgrades since version 5.9.1.1 (It's appreciated that they upgrade though). Hey and come to think of it I had AnyDVD running in the backround when I successfully backed up a copy of Menace II Society to file then to disc. I guess AnyDVD was assisting me afterall:P Thank You Again!!!!:)
