Ok I gotta few questions about this cuz the program kicks a$$, I had a problem with Hostel, used anydvd (trial) and baMMMM, shrink did the job. Now....
Do you have to buy it? Is there anywhere to get it free?
and how do get the updates, do they send you emails, or do u have to visit the site frequently?
@DeAdHoMiE
Yep if you want to keep using it after the 21 day trial you have to buy it. Let's support the developers of the kick a.. software.
The is an option in settings>program - just have it set 'automatically check for new AnyDVD Version' and it will let you know when a new one is available.
After your 21 days free trial is over, you'll need to buy it if you want to keep using it.

There are plenty of good free programs available like shrink, decrypter, and the very good constantly updated DVDFab decrypter, anydvd is not one of them, but worth the money.

Once installed, anydvd is setup by default to check for updates for you, when one becomes available it will notify you.
Creaky said it best, if you can afford to buy two packs of DVD media (say, for 30 bucks each), you should have enough money to buy this program. At 39 bucks, you get a program that is absolutely kick ass. There's really almost nothing it can't handle. It's constantly updated. And on top of all that, you have unlimited updates. You can't go wrong!
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
Mr.Pink - not sure if that was me but that's ok, and with my memory it probably was me Lol. Either way i fully concur, blank media costs nothing really, for what you get, so a small amount for some software. in fact i'm gonna see if my ma will buy AnyDVD as i've put it off long enough (it's only because i've not got a Visa card)
I got it as a Christmas present from my brother-in-law. It has handled every problem dvd that I own and now does the new encryptions on music cd's. I just let it run and use shrink to reauthor and burn with decrypter. Quick and dirty. Probably the best piece of software that I have ever owned.
