I stand correct, I watched all of my backups and all of them played flawlessly without any issues. I guess you and I were right in addendum to "post process" the VIDEO_TS.IFO through VobBlanker, this process takes 5 minutes and it will correct/fix any invalid structural, fake pgcs, dummy cells, etc.
Nearly 99.99% of all of my backups, I process them through VobBlanker to blank out any useless junks and so far I've never experienced any playback issues.

I'm attempting to make a YouTube vid, and I was wondering if anyone could help me burn it to AVI, or MPEG or something. I tried JaguarGod's method, and it didn't produce the correct effects because I want to be able to edit it and add background music etc etc. SO can anyone help or give me a guide?
When you are in IFO Mode, Choose to Demux the audio and video streams. You will have the .M2V (the Video) and .AC3 (the Audio). Next, you will need an authoring software in order to remux the movie with your extra audio track.
However, if you want to add background music to an existing track, then you will need music editing software. First, you must convert the .AC3 to .WAV. This will allow it to be editied by pretty much every editing software. Next, you will create a new project in your software and open the .wav. Now, also open the sound effects and mix it into the same track. You can alternately create a 5.1 channel track and choose any channels to have the sound effects/background music.
Editing audio can be rather frustrating. I remember I had to knock an "R" rated video down to "PG" and it took about 2 hours to edit a 15 minute video... I am not a sound/music editor though, but I have the basic understanding on how to do it.
I think the easiest way for you to do this is to have a plan. Have some paper and write down the times where you want to add your music or sound effects. Also, write down the length of time of each. Then create the background and sound effects tracks separately. Name them something like "bg_001734.wav" for background at 0 hours 17 minutes and 34 seconds or "se_010456.wav" for sound effect at 1 hour 4 minutes and 56 seconds. This will make the mixing much faster.
I am not familiar with all the mixing software, but I use Sony Vegas, howver, that also does video editing. You can get Sound Forge or a competitor for audio only, howver Sony Vegas = Sound Forge + Main Concept Encoder so keep that in mind when you look at software and prices. There should be tons of other software and possibly even something in the Nero Suite, though that will not give the best results.
After you are finished with your editing, you can either remux the tracks for a new DVD (IFOEdit, Muxman, DVDlab, etc...), or use other software to make an AVI, mpeg, etc... Sony Vegas cannot open .m2v files for some reason though, or at least any attempts I made have failed.
