@dodger18, Future-fta is Blacklist's home site. His files will be posted there first. Here is the actual link. Files are listed by receiver model.

Installing the factory bin is the same as any other bin. This is usually not necessary. Installing the latest bin update will automatically erase the older bin in the receiver. The factory bin install is only used if some strange problem shows up. It restores the receiver to the way it was when purchased. Factory bin can be found at PansatUSA.com. Its good to keep on hand but not necessary to use it before every bin update.

LNB Question Jerry

Is it safe to assume that one LNB on my dish picks up on Sat? So if I wanted to pick up five different sats would I need 5 LNBs?

Thanks

@CPK2006, Yes 1 LNB for each sat. However you may need extra dishes also depending on which sats you want. The bigger the dish the possibility of more sats off it, but actual orbit location only allows certain groups of sats off one stationary dish. Those wanting multiple sats usually go with a motorized dish that can be turned to different positions.

Thanks Gerry

I saw an oliptical dish with 4 or 5 LNB's on it. It is designed to be a stationary dish (doesn't need motorized mount) So with this would be able to get the signal from 4 sats???

Thanks

Yes, depending on the dish size 4/5 LNBs should give you 4/5 sats. What you have to watch out for is compatibility between a dish with multi LNBs that may not work with FTA receivers. Those units usually have internal switches that sometimes cause problems with FTA receivers. Sometimes with a lot of playing around they may work, sometimes you end up scrapping the LNB setup for several single LNBs. If the dish you are looking at comes with 4/5 single LNBs then you will be OK feeding them through the regular FTA switch. If they are combined into 1 big LNB unit with the internal switch, you will need to do a good bit of research to see it that unit will work. The most common all in one unit is the 3 LNBs in one. Just research before you buy.

Crowbar91, the latest Pansat files will auto roll for DN. You may need to wait about 5 minutes or more. There were some problems with the auto roll working on BEV. I don't know if thats working or not. You may need to manually input keys for BEV. I don't watch BEV at all so I don't follow those posts very much.

BEV channels are off a completely different sat. DN sats are at 110 and 119 degrees. Bev sats are at 82 and 91 degrees.

ESPN, ESPN 2, and ESPN Classics are all on the 119 sat. Check this link to see everything on that sat.

http://www.lyngsat.com/

On the left side it shows Dish 110 and Dish 119. Clicking either one will show everything on each sat.

Jerry,
I know they are on 119 but when I do a blind scan or satellite scan they dont show up in the channel list. Is there some setting changes that I need to make. Based on previous emails from you and other forums. I have changed the LNB TO Dp from Standard in the Pansat reciever for 119 and performed a scan again but nothing is hapenning yet.

Try just a TP scan. Scan TP 4 at freqency 12268. I always get ESPN just off the regular sat scan. Make sure the DP switch settings for your dish are correct for each sat. Those DishPro LNBs can be pain sometimes.

I actually never tried a DP setup so this info is just what I found on another forum. This is how they set it up. I can't test it to see if its correct.

110
LNB TYPE: OCS-DP
LNB POWER: ON
LNB FREQ.: 11.250
22khz: OFF
DiSEqC: 2.0
COMMITED: 2
LEGACY SW: OFF

119
LNB TYPE: OCS-DP
LNB POWER: ON
LNB FREQ.: 11.250
22khz: OFF
DiSEqC: 2.0
COMMITED: 1
LEGACY SW: OFF

Jerry,
I will try those settings but since this is the order of my sats 110.121.119 should I do commited 1 & 3 for 110 & 119 respectively and leave the settings alone in 121.

I dont know what OC-DP means but I have DP and already changed to that setting for 119 but not 110. Do I have to change for 110 also.

Regarding scanning 12268 in TP 4, I might already have someother TP in that number, so I will add it to the end and give it a shot.

What is this DisEqc ?

DisEqc switch settings refers to the switch the combines 2 or more sats into 1 cable to your receiver. Kind of like a splitter in reverse but more complicated. The DP LNB has this built into the internal workings, not a seperate box like what comes with most receivers. You still have to set a port location in the setup for each sat or it won't work right. Thats what those settings are telling you. Like I said I can't check any of that information since I don't have that setup. Its trial and error until you get it to work.

Crowbar91, switches can go bad so its a possibility. NEVER disconnect a sat cable with the receiver power ON from any part of the system. The cable carries the channel switching voltage and may blow something out like the diseqc switch or LNB. Always power down and unplug the receiver before a disconnect.
