Soodi and any one else reading this you DO NOT need to add the SS nowerdays. Most releases come with the Security Sectors already incorporated.
When you d/l a game and have loadsa files like mmp.001 etc just double click the lowest numbered one and open it with WinRAR. then extract it and it will copile it for you.
You should be left with 2 files, one a small .dvd file and the other is a large file wither with the game name or 000.
Use clone CD to burn the .dvd and it should work.
Also if your using newsgroups its a good idea to download the PAR files with it and double click one before extracting it with WinRAR. This will check all the data is there.

Hey guys,
I'm kind of a noob to all of this but I've learned a lot here and had a question I was hoping maybe someone could help me with. I had my 3.3 firmware installed on the samsung drive last week and since have made backups of about 4 or 5 games. They seemed to work fine for the first couple of trys, but suddenly my 360 won't read the disk consistently. Sometimes the games boot fine and sometimes my 360 just says "reading" followed by "open Tray". I'll try it again a few minutes later and it will boot. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I'm using memorex dl disks. Could it be a media problem? Thanks.

can we use the same process to back up xbox games to play on the 360, because i tried to do it earlier today with halo 2 and there was no succes. is there a certain way to edit wxripper or should i use a different program to extract the iso file

Iz got some questions do u need a mod chip to do the software update?... and is there a good tutorial on show to do the sofware up date... do i need a connetivity kit to connect the xbox to my pc

I try to make an xbox 1 game to work on the xbox 360 but when I using xbox ss merger 1.5 it ask what kind of video partiton is it but unlike the 360 game (which I use Xtreme style) here I dont know what to choose and I dont want to waste dl discs???

i wasted a disk using the merger without it finding a game in the data base, so save your disk

hi
I get some xbox 360 games from newsgroups ,some of them was with an a litte dvd file and a big iso file ,i burned the dvd image file with clone cd ,and i could run in my x box without a problem,but most of them i dowloaded were with a lot of files but no dvd imge or so,can anybody please tell me how do i burn them?
Another one was a just a big iso image 7,8 gb ,i burn it but it didnt run in x box ,i get the error: cleane your disk with a cloth....
Does anybody have an idea ?

Guys,
It may already be posted somewhere but I can confirm that ImgBurn will burn your 360 disc image to a blank Dual Layer disc no probs.
Having confirm that ImgBurn is capable of reading the layer break info I decided to give it a shot as CloneCD was bombing out from time to time.
The process I use is as follows:
Using the original game:
1. Extract the disc image to my hard-drive using XBox Backup Creator
2. Using ImgBurn, select the .DVD file (which accompanies the image created by XBox Backup Creator) for burning

Is there anyway to get a complete how-to guide (like a complete guide for dummies). I don't really understand most of this and what is done on the Xbox360 and what is done on the computer. Please help as I have young kids and they destroy their games.

Hey
I just flashed my Toshiba-Samsung-H943 with the xtreme firmware 4.1a version.I tried to start a original game after and it startet up fine.
Downloaded a game i wanted using Newsgroup making sure the region release matched my xbox 360 witch is PAL.
Unzipped the rars so i got an .iso file and a .dvd file
I Tried to burn with Clonecd first but i got a "Image dosnt fit on destination disc! Space available 7222 mbyte Space required 4482" message. I got a choice to try to overburn or write until the end of media is reached.Decided to cancel
So i loaded the the .dvd file in DVD Decrypter instead then i burnt it on my Sony DVD RW DW-Q28A burner on a Verbatim DVD-R DL disc.
I have also flashed my burner with the newest firmware.
But when i try to start the game on my Xbox 360 i get the message "The disc is unreadable"
Is there anythin i have forgotten to do? I have not done anything else than what i have written down here.
Since i can play my original games dos that not mean that i flashed it right?

Hi guys, I know you hate stupid newbies like me and I really hate to be annoying, but your advice got me backing up my dvd's perfectly and now I want to start my 360 games. I know that the guide is excellent in how to burn the games but I am really confused as to what I need to do to my 360 to be able to play these backups. I would really appreciate any and all advice and links to tutorials could really be handy. I appreciate the help in advance

I originally wrote this post for afterdawn and my own site, I'm glad some people appreciate my work, I hope it came in use and helped you successfully burn your games, but I quit now. As of now, do not private message me anymore. I get like 10 a day asking the most retarded questions in the world. "whats a newsgroup", "do i need a modchip?", etc, etc. I realize everyone was a noob at one time, but all these answers can be found in either this topic, or the forum search, or fking google!
I submitted the tutorial because honestly, when I have probs with my computer, or my ps2, or my xbox, whatever someone here can always help, and I appreciate that. Thank you Afterdawn and everyone who contributes.
I don't mean to be an asshole and I do apologize, all I ask is you not private msg me anymore as I dont even burn XBox360 games anymore and am way out of the loop.
A few people have pm'ed me asking for permission to post the guide, thank you for that, I appreciate it.
Just a warning, dont bother PMing me anymore, I wont respond. And I sure as fk wont post any more of my tutorials.

Hi,
First of all thanks for the tutorial and al the other helpfull stuff here on the forum.
I am a newbie concerning xbox360 backsups and burning
I had some problem burning backups that came from newsgroups.
I got some backups where the .nfo files tells there is no need to do anything with the ss bin but you can unpack and burn straight away with clone cd.
I tried 3 different times (with three different doanloads) and all three did not work.
You get 2 files on .dvd and one with 000 extension and when burning i chose the .dvd file.
The first time it burned and did not give any problem while burning but my xbox360 (with a new hitachi drive so i have been told as my 360 is just 2 weeks old)gives a error reading the disk.
The second time i got a error while burning
The third time I burned the game again with no error while burning but now the 360 says that the disk is dirty or somethign and that i should clean it and restart the 306 I cleaned it with a damp cloth and some special spray to clean dvd's but it had no affect.
Can you help me tp point out what i am doing wrong because as far i can see i am following all the steps in your tutorial.

You're not being an asshole, Tweeder. Your tutorial helped a whole bunch of people, and it's easy to see why you would be getting fed up with so many pointless private messages.
Don't let all the hassle dissuade you from posting further tutorials though. For every ten lazy noobs that are asking stupid questions, you've probably helped at least a hundred others.
