I just ran across a movie that is on a dual layered DVD. It's Disc 1 of Season 1 of the 2006 Doctor Who Series.
When trying to archive my original, AnyDVD pops up stating "anydvd doesn't know all of the CSS keys on this disc...will guess at the correct ones...one or more titles may not play correctly."
I typically use DVD Shrink bundled with DVD Decrypter, which auto launches after the rip. However, will DVD Shrink be able to correctly copy both layers in a single pass? If not, what is the best method for handling my situation.
@phaser1
That error in shrink either means it can't handle the copy protection or the disc is dirty/scratched or a bad press.
Now the AnyDVD pop up - are you using the latest version? 6.0.1.1 or beta 6.0.2.1
AnyDVD also has a ripper that you may want to try - rip with that to your hard drive than open those files in shrink & proceed as usual.
Shrink can copy the whole movie to a dvd - compression may be high with a series.
My AnyDVD version only states 6.0.1.1. According to the e-mail I get from Slysoft, since I'm a paying user, it doesn't state "beta" in any of the wording for the tweaks it has made for this version.
I got around the issue with CloneDVD2. The DVD (brand new) has 3 episodes tied together, so I only selected that volume. I had CloneDVD2 create an image file, then used DVD Decrypter to burn it. Playback preview was successful.
AnyDVD and Clone is a great combo - one of my fav's.
Glad to hear that combo worked!
This 'beta' version can be downloaded from slysoft's website. They send the email when they have an 'offical' release.
Since you were successful no need to try it - they'll probably offically release this new version shortly.
