I have mine set to check source directory size. I'm sure either one will be fine. See the image has already been shrunk, and this tool just sets the image for the burning. Also in the setting you can have it burn with DVD Decrypter if you want to.
Make sure that you have the key before we clean the registry!

@ rbrock
You will have to do a registry sweep to remove them. Follow the link posted above for maskeeta. That will probably fix the issue.
@ maskeeta
Yes the key is the serial #. I will check with binkie7 and make sure that the key will work for registration before we proceed.
The reason you use ImgTool is because ImgBurn can not reed the file in its current format. Use ImgTool to change the format for ImgBur to recognize.

maskeeta-
The following picture shows how I do it. My original folder that I named and used Shrink is of course on top. I create another folder for the image to be located under that. Then I press create image button. It is really simple. After you do that then ImgBurn will be able to burn the image file.
I want to make sure that it is the software and not the burner. If you are able to burn the movie this way then I know it is the software. Let me know how it works out for you.

Is this particular DVD the only one you have tried to burn? Seeing that the burner could not even burn the first track, I am wondering if either the firmware needs to be updated or if the DVD laser went out. Can you watch a DVD in the drive? This is definitely not a software issue.

no that dvd that i tried there was a totally different dvd that i tried to back up from my collection. i used shrink to put it to my HD as DVD files then ran it through imgtool, then imgburn to burn.
i think i have the latest firmware update for my tdk burner, i dont think tdk makes burners anymore as there discontinued and i do have the latest firmware they offer.
as i noted before cd-r's burn fine here. i just put a dvd in to wathc and it recognized it. i only had time to watch a few minutes of it though.
i still have my burner as the master and dvd-rom as the slave now too.

Try another brand of media, 8x if you can find it. The burner is not liking this media. The fw on you burner is a year old, and it is not recognizing the 16x media.

Hi maskeeta
Long shot but check this. Go to Nero ToolKit>InfoTool>aspi does anything show corrupted there? If it says no system aspi installed that's okay just checking that if you do have any they're okay.

I'm thinking that somewhere along the way you messed up your system32 files.
Can you select Start->Run and in the box type cmd.
Dose your DOS screen open?
Why don?t you download a program called Hijack This, run it an post a log for me to look at. You may download it at hijack-this.org
By running this I will be able to get a clearer picture of you system and setup.
Thanks

Why don't you try copying normal files to your dvd. Copy a large directory or anything to a dvd. If it can't copy the files to the dvd then you probably have a dvd drive problem and no amount of changing your system settings etc will fix it.

restart,
You are probably right, however, there is a system problem if you notice the post about the error that was received. This is what I am hoping to be able to fix. The HjT log will give me a little more information that may be able to help me.
Not able to burn with Nero or ImgBurn means that the drive is probably dead, however, there is still an error in the system32 file that needs to be resolved.
