AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.
AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.
Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays.
But AnyDVD doesn't just stop at DVDs. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.
Features
* Works automatically in the background
* Removes encryption (CSS) and region code (RPC) from DVDs
* Removes analogue copy protection (Macrovision)
* Removes features such as forced subtitles and warnings
* Decrypts without the need to save the data onto your hard-disk
* Decrypts 'on the fly'
* Prevents automatic launching of 'PC-friendly' software on video DVDs
* Allows adjustment of your monitor refresh rate for both NTSC and PAL monitors
* Allows execution of external programs on disc insertion and removal
* Allows speed control of your DVD drives
* Compatible with all DVD media
* Works with all DVD-drives, regardless of region code
* Works with all DVD copying, such as CloneDVD, and all DVD player software
* Works transparently for the operating system: DVDs can be shared over the network and copied with the command prompt or with Windows Explorer, etc.
* Proven to be stable and fast and does not require an ASPI driver
* Features AnyCDDA: play, copy and rip protected audio CDs
System Requirements
* IBM-compatible PC with a minimum 500 MHz Pentium-class microprocessor and 64 MB RAM
* Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/2000/XP
* 2 MB hard-disk space

I don't anymore either, only got them for a year and after that nothing. I think you do not get any support after the year, but you still can update your program. That is why I either check periodically or watch for the posts of updates.

Keep the automatic update check enabled. It is there for a reason.

I know the automatic update is there, however it also can be annoying, and my preference is to leave it off.

Annoying? In what respect is the "a new version is available" annoying?

@Ireland
I didn't get a message(If I remember correctly) to reboot after this install either? Was that a fix Ireland?

Mine did not ask for a reboot either, and it has not requested a reboot since version 6 came out. I just do it out of habit now, after I install a program.

It tells you to reboot when a reboot is required.
It doesn't tell you to reboot if a reboot is not required.

Like elby said you do not have to restart your pc unless there is a major update, and when that is the case it will tell you to reboot.

i been doing a reboot with AnyDVD and CloneDVD since they first day it came out.1.2.1.3, 3-7-2003
what does it hurt to do a reboot..
to give ye a idea how long i was with CloneDVD and AnyDVD...
also this version 1924 of CloneDVD2SneakPreview is still installed on my computer..
along side of CloneDVD 2899 that was when the new change over to what you are use to now..it came out in 2-16-04 as i did beta test it.
i still use it it also works good..
as its not listed in CloneDVD history list as it was a beta..as it starts with Version 2.0.4.1: 3-18-2004

Hi,
I'm new to this forum so if I have posted to an incorrect one I apologize in advance. Anyway I have been using DVD43 along with 1ClickDVD mosting without problems, however, today have tried to backup Cassanova,Memoirs of a Geisha, and UltraViolet-the first 2 with unrecoverable track errors and other other with the DVD43_tray error. I'm assuming these are copy protection errors. Based on that should I switch to AnyDVD. The $39 is not an issue but ease of use is. Also has anyone had any problems after they deleted DVD43.
Thanks in advance for any help.

@donsturdy
Welcome to AD. If money is no problem download AnyDVD and use the whole program free for 21 days. If you decide to buy it, which you will, try using either "afterdawn" or "cdfreaks" in the coupon area without quotes. If discount is on, save you $5. There is really no learning curve for AnyDVD. As for DVD 43, never used program. I haven't seen any issues here about uninstalling it. The best freebie seems to be DVD Fab Decrypter. Also you can get guides and free software downloads here:

I love the new subtitle part of the prog, it softens the subtitles, making them less harsh & less distracting.

Do not buy keys on ebay. They are usually stolen and will be blacklisted.
