Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
I have a couple of questions about AnyDVD. i downloaded the trial version and it ran out. NOT GOOD
1) is it worth the price?
2) if i buy it on line how do i get the actavation code and updates?
Do they email me the updates as they come out?
thanks in advance
1. Yes, it is very much worth it. It is very easy to use and I have never had a problem with it.
2. When you buy it you get an activation key. You need to save that to a CD, zip drive, memory stick to have in case of a computer crash. Then just open it up and click it and all done and ready to go. They send you an email stating there are updates available and you go to the website and simply download the latest version.
For something like this, I'd recommend getting a pre-paid credit card. Unless you dead-end a regular credit card (opt-out of information sharing), everything you purchase is available to marketers and "affiliates" of the CC company - including the RIAA. Sometimes, that sharing will occur even if you opt-out, and, with some banks, you may not have that option at all.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
Either "RipIt4Me (DVD Decrypter + FixVTS)" and "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" are both FREE and flawless. They're both "updates" regularly, so it can rip (decrypt) the latest encrypted protections. That being said, you shouldn't really have to worry about ripping much.
However, if you want to get (pay for) AnyDVD, then the choice is yours. It's your call, your money, so make your decision. Honestly, I would say, get "RipIt4Me" or "DVDFAB Decrypter" instead, but that's just me. Evidently they both can get the job done flawlessly.
Below are some FREE tools that can rip any dvds (yes.. even new released) flawlessly, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS. The choice is yours, use whatever you're more comfortable with.
<< *FREE* Ripper & Editing tools >> ** DVDFAB Decrypter - one of the best FREE ripper now (takes 12 minutes to rip)
** RipIt4Me - one of the best FREE COMBO/ripper including DVD Decrypter + PSL (12 - 15 minutes to rip)
** VobBlanker - one of the strongest FREE editing tool (2 - 5 minutes to process/fix fake structural, fake cells, dummy vts/pgc, etc. flawlessly, it can "cut, edit, strip and blank" out any scenes/vts/cells or unwanted junks.)
** FixVTS - one of the best FREE junks processing tool (works the same way like VobBlanker, but it "can not" edit or blank out unwanted junks.)
** PgcEdit - a very useful FREE editing tool.
<< *FREE* Transcoding tool >> ** DVD Shrink - (one of the best FREE transcoding engine).
<< *FREE* ISO/Image burning engines from LUK >> ** DVD Decrypter ** ImgBurn

Hi crazyman1
Yes the free programs will handle anything out there right now just like AnyDVD.
A step or 2 more maybe but they're free and do the job well.
Even though I have AnyDVD - on the 'harder' ones I will also use the different programs too like dvd fab, vobblanker, RipIt4me.
I don't work for AnyDVD... actually I don't work anywhere (student) so I never imagined I would shell out for such 'small' program that wasn't a game but buying AnyDVD was the BEST purchase i've ever made. Actually i think condoms would be the best... but the best PC related purchase.
