@Mirid If you use HEND you dont need to use HENC, coz HEND is the latest version. maybe your ISO is bad thats why it hangs, or try to do this on the DEVHOOK MENU:
MORE OPTIONS>>>>UMD SFO VERSION : 2.xx to 2.00
HEN(2.71 only) : Disable
@rruler Sorry but you cant use this GUIDE for TA-082 FW V2.81 Coz you cant downgrade TA-082 PSP to FW v2.71.

@rruler i dont know, but maybe in the future they can also make
FW 2.81 TA-082 PSP to run the HEN, coz now HEN can only Support FW2.71, hmm BTW how did you find that your PSP is TA-082? did you see a ICnumbers on the UMD drive?

Hi kealvalro...greetings there in Hong Kong!
I just wanted to personally thank you for creating an extremely useful/helpful and very easy to follow TA-082 guide.
I am a hardcore PC user, but a complete PSP noob. I just bought a new PSP last Friday, November 24 (Black Friday for $169).
I'm so glad I found your guide and installation files. After reading/studying your guide, I bought a used PSP UMD Sampler for $2 at Electronics Boutique. Following your instructions, installing your files, and using the $2 UMD, I'm able to play ISOs/CSOs (on my memory sticks and through USB) with no problems because of your guide/files. LOL!
Thank you kealvalro!

rruler...since you recently bought your PSP, is there any way to return it or exchange it?
I'm a complete PSP noob, but I did my research before buying a PSP. There are guides available that help you determine the firmware, of the PSP, just by looking at the codes on the PSP box.
I bought a PSP box that had the "K" on it, so mine was good to go. Now, after following kealvalro's guide, I'm playing ISOs/CSOs easily on my new PSP TA-082 [2.71]. :)

Thanks for the help! After trying to load HEND it finally worked after like the 10th try.....now Devhook boots up just fine.
Now my only other question is that I wanted to download system emulators (NES, SNES, N64) and some new ISOS. Where exactly should the files be placed in my memory stick?

Hi, I have a question have any of you been able to play .iso's or .cso's online? If so can you point me in the right direction. I cannot connect to the internet at all from devhook. I can connect from the main window outside of devhook. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Since Ive gotten everything running now and Ive downloaded some ISOS onto my PC, how do I transfer them into my memory stick (which folder do they go into)? Then how do I play them using Devhook?
Lol im sorry I seem so clueless but this is all very new to me....I have AIM (Yankees2323) or I could create an MSN username if that were to be easier because I feel like I could use a step-by-step instruction

elperuano:
The DAX format doesn't work with this chunglam devhook. What you can do is download a program called UMDGen to convert the DAX into either ISO or CSO.

whoa that's a big one.ok first plug your usb to your psp and computer then move the iso game that your have download to the ISO.k after that boot HEND in PHOTO and it will autoreboot then boot devhook Launcher/VSHEX Mod in Memorystick
lastly set these settings
umd select : your game
firmware : 2.71
Thumbnail mode : enable
MORE OPTIONS : UMD SFO VERSION--->2.XX to 2.00
ADD-ON MENU : GAMEBOOT THEME--->@AUTOTHEME
ADD-ON MENU : HEN(2.71 only)--->ENABLE
that is it now click on start in menu.
now you will be in emulated 2.71,place a umd into your psp.go to umd you will see the game u want to play.
Now to change games in emulated 2.71 press HOME then choose game there.remember to move the analogstick right to choose the game
@elperuano chunglam don't support .DAX games so you have to convert them to cso or iso.use umdgen to convert them.

@Mirid i had the same problem
Get the ISO file, and extract it using WinRAR, you should get a .BIN file UMD_DATA, and a folder called PSP_GAME.
Open up PSP_GAME and find SYSDIR folder, open this and DELTE the UPDATE folder. Now remake the ISO file using UMDGEN found at http://www.umdgen.com/utilities.html
