As someone said on a thread somewhere along the way, no one says thanks enough after they have had problems. Well, Thanks all! Just 3 days after getting my PSP, I have successfully upgraded to firmware 3.02OE-B on my TA-082. You guys rock! Thanks for the advice and tips.
To return the favor, I have written up an enhanced step by step guide for n00bz (me) to do the downgrade to 1.5. See link below...

mate seriously downgrade to 1.5 then to the custom firmware it's a piece of piss. Truly first time worked perfectly no more hend no more devhook and ps one games and web browser A1. if you need help mail me plz i will help you

See? i told you guys the downgrader was so easy to do. and it really works 100% forget the risk. And to make this Clear, This is NOT THE FAKE DOWNGRADER THAT WAS REALESED BEFORE, ITS A NEW DOWNGRADER. Just follow the very easy steps carefully then it will work flawlessly. Just make sure YOUR BATTERY LIFE IS ON 75% OR ABOVE or just put the power plug for your PSP while doing this.
Then after downgrading to 1.50FW hahaha you welcome now to enter 3.02 OE-B. Then your PSP will no need the HEND and the DEVHOOK anymore.

I have a TA-082 and fw2.71, currently running HEND and DH .51 to emulate 3.02.
I wanna do the 1.5 downgrade, but i'm just a little worried about the flashing and the bricking. Does anyone think it'll help to use DH and erase any previous flashes, like we did before running the 3.02 install to use with DH.51? and does anyone think that better downgrades will come out for the ta-082 in the near future now that DAX found a way?

hey.
i dont really know if my psps a ta-82 or not. it has no code in umd slot but has ss259 on box which some people say means its ta-82.
will this downgrader still work if its not a ta-82?

Hi guys..I just joined the world of PSP..I got a burning issue rite now..
I have Devhook ver 0.51B emulating 3.01 successfully..I am unable to load my Prince of Persia Revelations game..It appears as the game under the UMD and when ever i select it, the loading screen appears but the whole thing just seems to freeze at that screen?
Why..I have tried re-transferring everything but nothing seems to work?
Any idea guys...

Just some information about the new downgrader.
First use the downgrader if uoi have firmware 2.71 and a ta-82 ( do not touch it if you dont ).
Now if you see c1003 inside the disk tray on the motherboard ( green area ) you have a ta-82.
I did the downgrader and had no problems, just fallow instructions to a q. P.s: pspupdates.com should have all the needed files.
Now about firmware 3.02b... it is the best thing since sliced bread ;). No need to use hend, no need to use devicehook. You just run the iso s like they were any game. Just open and enjoy ;). Homebrew is fully supported.
Now for those that say they are sticking with 1.50, well let me tell you you are missing out, 1.50 doesn t have support for 8 gig cards, can t play playstation 1 games like 3.02b and if you have one of the newer hk higher capacity batteries well 1.50 will shutdown for no reason, on firmware 2.71 and up it works like a charm. So there you got it, firmware 3.02b is the new golden firmware. ;)!

why when i try play the iso it says i need to update to 9.99 or higher to play?? just before i was able to play need for speed most wanted and now it asks me to update inorder to play. I redid the installations but it still won't play saying version needs to be 9.99 or higher.

also the thumbnail pic of my iso says dummy umd and devhook next to it.. the game worked just fine like 15mins b4

OK! since kealvalro isnt here (i think he is busy)
ill be helping for a lil bit.
FOR ALL OF YOU that wants to downgrade! make shure your version is a 2.71 TA-082!!. also make shure u have a recharger pluged in and your battery has to be at least 75%!!
i downgraded from 2.71 TA-082 to 1.5 then upgraded to 2.71 se-c

after you have downgraded your TA-082 2.71 psp to 1.5O using dark_alex's TA-082 2.71 downgrader you can use this guide to upgrade to 3.02 OE-B. You need to upgrade to 3.02 OE-A first before upgrading to 3.02 OE-B. both guides are included in this link:

I'll do this when Reflash-X comes out. It's said to un-brick your PSP. But I don't know how that is going to work. Or I might just get a mod-chip but that costs money.
EDIT: Oh wait, U.P mod-chips don't work with TA-082.

Thanks for the great tutorial. I managed to install hend and devhook on my TA-082 fw 2.71.
I would now like to play GTA, the game I got with my PSP, which requires fw 2.81.
I tried this a couple of times:

hey i have an actual copy of socom and the wireless play is awesome i was just wondering if i were to back up a copy of socom... would infstructure mode be fully functional???

@subling, emulate 3.00 it says how in the guide and all your problems will be solved
@reezbauer, you will be able to play socom online fully 100% with a proper iso
@bebe1234, are you using an ISO/CSO or the original UMD?

im having major trouble with the emulating of psx games on my psp. i happen to own a ta-082 and i already installed the "K easy installer". problem is, i don't understand how to emulate psx games. can someone write a detailed tutorial?
errors i encountered:
>activate system?
>black screen?
>rebooted psp
ps. am i really supposed to see hotshots golf?
ps(2). am i supposed to enter the black screen where i have an option to select a game?

For all those who are still trying to use HEN-D on 2.71, I recommend you downgrade to 1.50. I've just successfully downgraded to 1.50 myself, but I'm not installing the custom OE-B firmware. I'm sticking to using DevHook to load isos since I want to write to the flash as little as possible.
