Let's rename this thing from a Pendrive to a USB drive, as most ppl recognize it as that....
As for playing SNES from a USB drive, no, I don't know if it can be done. For the time being, it's only via a CD-ROM or DVD (by building it a certain way) from what I understand. The SNESstation website lists the full FAQ, check it out.

OK, so I've burned a CD using the Max Media pc app,
-snesstation.elf
+ROMS
-games......

I can get it to boot with my ARMAX, but it won't read the roms. SO, i have some questions.

-do i have to rename the roms using Good SNES so that they have less than 31 characters?
-is the name of the "roms" folder case sensitive?

3 coasters and counting....

RIP.BURN.ENJOY :)

the folder MUST be name "ROMS" without the quotes.
The filenames MUST be less than 31 characters. Name them whatever you like, I don't know if you can/can't have dashes or underscores. Just keep it simple.
The files must be laid out in a certain order, with ROMS being the first file burned and SYSTEM.CNF being the file file. Use Nero burning rom (NOT Express!!) or another burning program that does UDF file format.

Read the FAQ quide on the SNES station website. This is very simple to do, I own a v12 and it worked fine. A friend owns a v7 (I envy him), and he can use the Independence Exploit to boot SNESstation.

Hey Moreno25, check in the roms section and it should have the option of playing games off of cd. Atleast I know mine does. If yours doesn't show up then I guess get another version of pgen because maybe yours is faulty with cds. That's all I know that could help.

Does this mean I can load the CD-R with the Emulator and Roms (Snes of course My PGEN Emulator runs from my USB Drive)using the MC Exploit and Cogswap.....

Or will the Max Media program load the snesstaion.elf by itself?

Also I noticed I can load and run my PGEN Emulator from my USB Drive no Problem, but it doesnt recognize ROMs on the Drive....Meaning I have to burn CD-R's with ROMs. Does anyone know of a way to just run the ROMs from the USB Drive.

I had the same problem with mine. If it is not reading the pendrive in the roms list, you probably need to download the latest version of Max Media Creator. http://us.codejunkies.com/support_article_detail.asp?c=US&cr=USD&...

hope that helps.

I have a couple of questions about SNES Station. Can it only read roms that are in a certain area (E)(U) those sort of things? Are they like NTSC or PAL? Because my SNES Station reads most roms I have right but some of them come up black and white and off centered sometimes.

Also is there a way to put and play off the HDD without using some sort of USB thumbdrive? All I have is dvd's and an external hdd which I'm sure that the PS2 can't handle. I Currently am playing off a dvd copy I made.

Max Media Creator PS2 PGen Guide

Greetings. I have read all sorts of posts on how to get PGen to work,
some guides using a swap trick or the like. I'm here to say you DO
NOT need to do any of that and here's how:

What you need:

1. Max Media Creator Software (Latest Version)
2. Alcohol 120%
3. A blank CD (Any brand of CD will work)
4. Common Sense

Have you got all that? Good.

How to create the Disc Image:

1. Open up Max Media Creator and add all the ROM files you want
2. Click the "Add Emulator" Option, make sure that it added the file
"autoexec.elf" to the list
3. Under the "Output Media" heading, click the "save to file" option
4. Choose the directory where you want the CD IMAGE to be placed,
then click the big green button that says "Create", choose "cd image"
and choose "Normal Compatibility" and click "ok"

Phew what an effort. Ok now onto burning the CD Image onto the blank
Disc.

How to burn the Image:

1. Open up Alcohol 120% (You don't need the full version for this)
2. On the side panel click "Image Burning Wizard"
3. Select the image file you would like to record, click browse and
locate the directory where you saved the image to.
4. You only need to click the "audio.cue" file and open it
5. Click "Next". Under the "Datatype:" drop down menu select
Playstation 2
6. Under "Write Method:" check the "Rectify Sub-Channel Data" option.
(This is most important)
7. Set your "Write Speed" to the lowest possible (This is also
important)
8. Make sure you have a blank CD in your CD Burner and click start

Congratulations! You have created a PGen disc with ROMs on it!

How to use the newly created disc (for those of you without common
sence):

1. Insert the Action Replay disc into your PS2 and wait for it to
load
2. Choose the Media option, skip the cutscene
3. Eject the Action Replay disc and insert your new PGen disc into
the PS2 and close the tray
4. After about a minute or so PGen screen will load up and i don't
need to guide you from there

Happy Retro Gaming Girls and Boys! Remember it's not illegal if
you dont get caught ;)

Pgen question- is this burnable to dvd? (so far i've only seen info on a cd version)- I got snestation's iso burned onto a dvd, and using dvdloader v7all (swap magic 2.0 set) it booted up fine. I tried burning the pgen iso to dvd and it's not loadin' up. Is there another way to put this on dvd? Or is it strictly cd format only? Also, could it just be related to swap magic 2.0 dvd? (slimps2 never reads swap magic cd boot disc, but still uses dvd boot disc just fine, and sometimes after dvdloader).

To OP I got SNES and PGEN perfect the first time thanks!

I think it depends on what version of pgen your using. I know one version had some issues with some roms, like they wouldnt show or if they did show pgen would freeze trying to load them.

Try updating your version of pgen.

Sorry to double post but yeah, I was right. The updates were not done by the developer of SNES Station so they won't be found on that website.

SNES_0.24 USB - adds usb support

SNES_0.24 HDD - adds hdd support (as well as usb i believe)

SNES_0.24 HDD2 - increased number of supported partitions from 20 to 200

I'd link to the files but thats against the rules right?

Your ps2 does not need to be chipped for this. It may also depend on the brand of CD your using, you may have missed a step. No one has tried this on all the different models of the ps2 to my knowledge. I have a SCPH-30002 model and it works fine
