i dont think so, i was playing at 480i and 720p on separate occations. i refuse to use 1080i on a tv without the full hd resolutions, even then-so i hate interlacing to the point i perfer 720p.
and i guess the microwave runs at 2.45 ghz typicallly but at an extreme wattage, so its almost a sure thing your microwave is leaking radiation. maybe its not past legal limits of leaking though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave_oven#Controversial_hazards
ghz are non-ionizing, but they heat up and break down particles and protiens, producing heatshock protiens, braking down dna, basically separating atomic bonds.
(good to note that everything saying a microwave is perfectly safe in every way and causes less breaking down of protiens than conventional heating is a usa government report)
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

heres and issue with epic and the ps3 i have. F****** ut2007 was delayed AGAIN (and changed to be called ut3 for some gay reason). spring 08. f*** them, im not buying that game. if i have to wait this god awful long for a 2007 game in '0 f****** 8, this is getting stolen. the 360 gets it in when the pc version comes out. epic is a lover for ms, probably because ms pays them fortues for things like gears of war. sony needs to get on the ball and get some games on the ps3 or ittl be another psp.. god d***..
(pardon the night sky up there)

Screw Epic because i heard a rumor last summer that they put UT07 on the back burner for Gears of War.Epic was one of the first to get there hands on the PS3 dev kit. There is no excuse for this game to be delay that long,It was supposed to be a PS3 launch title.I'm not buying another game from them.

I just got a 60gig PS3 tonight and got it all hooked up through component (I'm going to pick up an HDMI tomorrow). I've noticed that on everything I've gone into (the store, gthd and motorstorm demo) that the edges are cut off like its not in full widescreen.
I have a 37" LCD from dell and have no problems with anything else so no clue. I have it set to Component/720P in the display settings on the PS3 and my t.v. settings are all correct. Did I do something wrong when I hooked up the PS3? (I've had the component cables hooked up since the second I hit the power on switch).
Thanks in advance

Why'd you even buy a PS3 if you are going to sell it at the first sight of problems? Be patient.

The problem which Sony does not want to admit is that the Blu-ray HARDWARE itself is the problem. It is the blue laser which heats up when reads disks. The more disk capacity & layers present on the Blu-ray disks, the harder it is for the blue laser to pick up on it, and the hotter it becomes.
So, there are no software or firmware updates which will be able to fully resolve the problems of heat & crashes. There newer PS3's & Blu-ray players from what I've read should fix most of these problems, but I've yet to see this happen.
Quote:
Quote: Although both formats are being demoed at the show, there has been much speculation about production problems in the Blu-ray camp. Knox confirmed the rumors, and said the problem involves Blu-ray's numerical aperture. In order to store more data on a disc, the laser is bent into a cone shape.
The aperture setting on standard DVD is 0.6, with the setting for HD DVD a slightly smaller 0.65. The additional capacity is provided by the blue laser technology. However, in order to store a full 25GB per layer, Blu-ray has adopted a 0.85 aperture, meaning the divots on the optical layer are smaller and more prone to error.

but all advancements need time to get better, and if you dont use them, they wont get better. plus i've had 0, count 'em, ZERO issues with my bluray or the disks as a movie player or a game player.

Also, I've read that gaming companies will only support a console which is selling well, and has a lot of support. In this case it is the XBOX 360 by far having the most support & the most sold consoles.
So, you can expect games being designed from the ground up for the XBOX 360, and just ported over to the PS3. This is just one more reason why XBOX 360 has better graphics in games.
I've seen both in action with same games, and a few friends have both, so they always compare. XBOX 360 wins hands down for now in graphics & gameplay. The PS3 seems to freeze at the odd time for some reason?

Playstation 3 Problems and Second Batch
Posted by Sean Pelletier - Monday November 27, 2006 6:30 AM EST Source: DigiTimes
Quote: DigiTimes reports that Sony's latest Playstation 3 game console is experiencing a fair amount of issues ranging from overheating to a lack of proper resolution scaling. Although some users are having trouble in terms of the unit being properly cooled and in some cases even having the unit turn on, the largest problem appears to be a lack of the console being able to upscale 720p games up to 1080i. Those gaming with an HDTV which supports 1080i and not 720p will be forced to watch their games at a mere 480p until Sony can provide a solution. Fortunately, Sony does have a solution for the lack of systems in the retail channel as a second batch of Playstation 3 consoles will be hitting stores in the beginning of December.
Problems related to overheating and inability to start the machine were reported since the PS3 launched in mid-November. Reports have circulated recently in the US retail market saying that when used with older high-definition (HD) TVs that support only a 1080i resolution, the PS3 displays 720p resolution games at only 480p. Sources at Sony said this problem could be caused by a firmware problem and that the company will resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Hope you do realize that xbox 360 has already been out for about a year, most companies such as epic has got those hardware down. So why dont you compare a xbox 360 launch release with a ps3 launch release. Ps3 losing gaming companies because its not selling well? i doubt that, wait until mgs or final fantasy comes out on the ps3, asian games such as japanese will surely buy those. Also this thread is about ps3 issue, so stop postin shit about sony edited by ddp up some1 computer about a song they dled, i dont give a damn about u switchin to 360, and dont get me wrong im not a fanboy. I own a 360 myself, and i hated the psp.

try powering down, and turing off the main power switch for 30 seconds. that gets rid of many things, even the often and annoying 800500001 or w/e error. if that doesnt work, power down and then press the power potton and told it untill a beep. if all else fails, try different cables. or a different sound system, maybe rr7 uses a format your sound source cant understand.
