you need a memory card, or you need to burn this to a cd.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Ducky831, that is my exact point, the XBOX 360 never had the amount of problems the PS3 has.

The Playstation 3 is a advanced system B4 its time IMO, Sony should have released in in around 2008 or in around Q4 2007. Blu-ray IMO is a failed technology (It needed more work B4 its release to the public), I believe it will not last much longer. HD-DVD costs cheaper & looks better then Blu-ray. Unless Sony can pull a rabbit out of there hat, they are in trouble IMO. Also, HD-DVD is gaining full support from the pony industry. And that industry is well over a Billion $$$$ in revenue.

SuperXP: theres so many things wrong with the last(at least)5 posts i just read of yours on here. Do you even own one? I'm curious because nothing you've said about it is accurate to any degree. Please, Keep all these negative, inaccurate thoughts to yourself, as they aren't helping anyone(as what this thread is about). Thanks for the link. I am glad I do not belong in that category.

I am just presenting hard facts that is it. In time PS3 problems will be resolved.

Now just like the XBOX 360 in its first days the PS3 does have problems, only time will fix them all. And if you have one with no problems, then congrats.

My PAL has a PS3. I admit that the PS3 system needs time to mature but there was one game I tried out (Can?t remember the name) at my friends house which was quite graphically amazing. I thought I was playing that game on a PC.

Take Care,

the older ps3 firmwars are going so suck because so much will be added in time. if the ps3 gets hacked, modchips would be more sensible. then homebrew and hacks could be done with all the advantages of the latest firmware. plus there are stupid glitches in these ealier ones like the controls not connecting even when registered to a machine, but it still turns it on. and the 80050001 or w/e error that is so common and requires to to power off, flip the main power swicth, and flip it back 30 seconds later.

Hi guys i need help!

I've had my ps3 for 3months now and never had a single problem using my 40" sony bravia (1080p). Last night though, i brought it over to my friends house and hooked it up on his 50" sony sxrd rear projection(1080p) through HDMI 2 HDMI connection. i turned the ps3 on and heard the sound of it starting up and i even hear the clicks and beeps that the ps3 makes when your browsing on the xmb but no pictures. all i get is a black screen. tried to turn the ps3 off a couple of times to o avail. 1 thing i noticed though is that on my 40", it shows me the video output of whatever i hook up on it and it adjusts by itself. and the 50" doesnt do the same thing. does anyone know the reason or maybe knows how to resolve this problem? ive tried playing with the menu of my friends tv but couldnt find any solution to it. anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

try pluging in the composite cables and HDMI to the 50". then when you push the s3 power button, hold it till it beeps. then reset all our video settings for HDMI. that should work, and if not i dont know what to tell you. its still works on your tv while not on the ther right?

thanks man i appreciate it. i got it to work. i didnt have to use the composite cables though. i just held on the power button while turning it on and it did the trick. it's weird though coz i'm pretty sure the 50" i was talking ablout is a 1080p but when i turned on the ps3 the only output i could get was 1080i. any idea?

maybe 1080i takes priority in default HDMI setups. did you change your settings to do 1080p?

The earlier model SXRD's namely the XBR1 series can only accept 1080i thru HDMI. The later models - the A2000 series and the XBR2 series - CAN accept 1080p thru HDMI. Your friend probably has the XBR1 model so it can only accept 1080i.

Don't worry because you're still seeing a 1080p picture. The SXRD deinterlaces the 1080i signal and displays it at 1080p. All fixed-pixel displays (LCD, DLP, SXRD, plasma) are by definition Progressive, thus the 1080p designation.

If it's an XBR1 model then the most that it can accept is 1080i. I used to own a 50 inch XBR1 SXRD but I traded it in for a 46 inch LCD flat panel Bravia XBR3.

I think that my PS3 just died! I was playing my new game motorstore and then it shut off and the red light was flashing, I tried to turn it back on and it got to the boot screen and froze. Dose anyone know what to do? I am going to let it sit over night.

So I went to Best Buy yesterday and exchanged my PS3 and when I got home and went to set it up I got this message.

Quote:
Cannot not start.
The correct Hard Drive was not found.

I called sony and they said that the boot file on the Hard Drive is corrupt. Dose anyone know where I can download a new boot file or do I have to exchange my PS3 again?

why didnt you ask them? try to "restore ps3 system" and to a full format if you have the time, a quick if you dont. let me know if that works.

I can't even get to the main menu to do a full formate/restore. I don't think the Joe Shmow in the call center, would know if I could restore the boot file! Hell the guy was telling me to Unplug my HDMI cable, and connect the Coaxial cable instead. I said "There isn't a coaxial cable for the PS3" "No, the cable that you plug into the PS3 that is square" "You mean Composite, and it is a rectangle" "No coaxial" LOL! He could barely speech English.

Other games play fine.
