I have tried it that way awhile back and they worked fine, but I find that using Xbox Backup Creator is a lot easier to use because it does it for you. No thinking involved.

The drive matters for the flashing you will use. I think you have that ok. Just try the media I said before.

Would be nice to know how to incorporate media stealth patching in this guide since it might become applicable in the near future.

Do you think they check the DVD drive firmware for a red ring of death symptom? When they receive my 360, they will see that the seal was removed and my warrenty in void. They will charge me for the repair. What else can they do to me?

Did he have his seal removed, did he have the DVD drive firmware update to read backup games like I have?

I have a quick question. I attempted to flash a 79k drive today, but I then found out that a Passkey was required, so I gave my friend back his system. However, I thought of something. Has anyone tried to use the same method used for the BenQ drive with the Hitachi 79k? In theory, it should work since it detects the drive on that channel and waits for the correct moment to dump, erase, and flash, detecting whether or not the drive is in a 1 or 0 state. Anyone try this yet?

This is a very dumb question, but can you flash a samsung drive with this method? The front page says you need a 360 with a hitachi drive, but I haven't seen any tutorials on this site for a samsung drive. Also, mine is already flashed but I have no clue what firmware is on it. Would this matter if i was trying to flash again? thanks a lot
