anyDVD and NEC ND-3550A XP System Crash

I recently swaped my old DVD writer for a NEC 3550A. But now, I get blue screens very often because of an unknown driver problem. The only way I could solve the problem is to remove AnyDVD (latest version). Is this a known problem? Is AnyDVD working on this problem?

Hi billys
Looks like some pc setups are having problems w/ the latest AnyDVD.
From what I've read AnyDVD is aware of it but you can always email their tech support in the mean time.

You can use version 6.0.8.2 for now - here's a link.

is there any programs similar to AnyDVD that runs i nthe background and decrypts??

Have you tried Ripit4me? It uses DVD Decrypter with a PSL file to decrypt and overcome structural copy protection, FixVTS to clean up the ripped files, DVD Shrink to compress/reauthor, and DVD Decrypter to burn. It handles everything and all programs are free.

DVDFab Decrypter will also handle all copy protection.

YES YES YES I'm having trouble with 6.0.8.5. It causes Nero burning Rom to freeze monitor in black and no way to do anything but reboot. Nero Recode works fine tho. Here's what I just podted in a similar thread.

So I pull out another disc that was done on Nov3 with another version of AnyDVD runnning, I create an ISO file with ImgBurn and open ing in NBR sofar ok. Then place blank in drive , and Walla, NBR works fine in burning a good disc with the ISO.

Conclusion: There is a bug in newest AnyDVD 6.0.8.5 update when burning ISO files in NBR! IMHO

Has anyone noticed this problem? And is anyone willing to create and ImgBurn ISO file a with AnyDVD6.0.8.5. running and try and burn it with Nero Burning Rom?

Too bad you're one of those having a problem w/ the latest AnyDVD :(

Go back to 6.0.8.2.

Guess I got lucky - the 2 pc's I run it on - no problems at all.

Has to be something different in the pc setup's on why some have problems and others don't.

Yeah I wasted 3 hrs messing with Nero until I figured out it was AnyDVD. Should have checked on Afterdawn before I went to all the trouble. I have gone back to 8.2. and everything is working. CD Freaks is also reporting same probs. Next time I'll just pm you to get the latest poop. LOL gary

Shrink crashed both of mine until I turned AnyDVD off. All was OK then. I've since reverted back to 6.0.8.2. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with an AnyDVD update. I don't have time to track down the problem. Hopefully the Slysoft people can ID it and fix it. Given that it's been a while now, I'm guessing they have no idea what's causing it either or I think we would have seen an update. They had to have made a low level change in the driver since it required a restart. I'm guessing that's where the problem lies

lol garmoon I wouldn't have been able to give you the scoop either - not problems on this end at all on 2 pc's.

I didn't know until I saw the posts here and at cdfreaks that something was up.

One said it was due to installing IE7 but someone else who had this problem didn't have IE7 installed. So there goes that one :)

So I have no clue what's different on why some have problems and others don't.
