So is this confirmed as secure and working now? There seems to be a lot of conflicting threads about. If anyone could confirm its ok and the steps on page 1 are going to work, I'd appreciate it. Need to up the fw to play the new metal gear solid, and i can barely wait! Thanks again for any info

If your latest update was based on 2.71 SE-C you would have to press the "R" button on startup and then go to configuration and choose game homebrew, only then the firmware 3.01 starts to unload. I also had the screen going dead on me before it shut down. 3.02 from what I understand just added more security.

Hey dude firstly cheers for putting this all up for us.
However I have a problem.I put all the files in as suggested but when I run the devhook installer I get the following message.

"Failed to create report file
Stick may be full or can't create OUT folder."

My MemStick is definetely not full so any ideas on the problem.

Thanks in advance

That happened to me as well. You have to put copy devhook onto your memory stick before you run the firmware installer otherwise that error will come.

I'm a little confused... I know firmware 3.02 will work with DH 0.51, but are the steps otherwise exactly the same as with 3.01? I'm working on a fresh memstick (since I had 2.82 firmware emulated with 0.50 and deleted everything).
If the original post can be updated, that would be helpful.

Also, assuming e:\ is your PSP drive, do I copy ms_root (and the other directory & 2 files) in that devhook rar to e:\ or to e:\mp_root?

So this installer work on FW 2.71 TA- mobo?, I currently run Chunglam Devhook with Hen-D, should I even upgrade? having trouble playing some games right now, maybe this DevHook can fix that.

@mig0- You copy it to e:\ not e:\mp_root\

No this is only for firmware 1.5.

Ok, I made a mod of the firmware installer to allow you to install firmware 3.02. As this installer doesn't allow you to use the 3.02 update.

Download it from here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E8HT40XX

Extract the archive and then copy all the files in the MS_ROOT folder into the root of your memory stick. Then copy the 3.02 UPDATE Eboot to the root of your memory stick. Now run the installer!

I saw the button swap problem on the PSP-Hacks forums. Apparently, if you install the configfiles to flash1 then the problem will go away.

Try installing the configfile to flash. Do this by going to FLASH ROM and selecting "Install Configfile to flash1:"

i have a question about the button swaps

If i put that in my PSP it won't flash anything or make it permanent right? Like if I delete those registry files after a few uses and I go back to 1.5 my X button is still X right? and if I go back to 3.01 after I delete it the X will go back to Circle and vice ver sa right? its not permanent?

it runs off the memory stick so it dosent flash unless you choose Flash Rom from the devhook menu and go flash config file to flash 1 or what eva it is so no unless you choose 2
