thanks again.

oh yeah, eternalis, i dont think you need to do that configfile to flash 1 thingy to make the swap buttons work. When those scary red letters came up, i just cancelled lol, then i got out of 3.02 and went back again and then found my buttons swapped!

Yeah you don't have to, but for some people it doesn't work unless they flash the configfiles for some reason.

That is a known bug of DevHook 0.51. Sorry but there are no fixes for this.

its seems pretty random to me, but it doesnt occur frequently.

hey eternalis on my emulated fw i cant seem to hook up to the net. When I scan for access points it says "internal error" or something like that. My router is set up, and i did try with my other psp and it worked. Maybe it has something to do with the new devhook? Oh yeah the other psp that i used to hook on the net emulated 2.71 with devhook.

EDIT: oh yeah flashing the config files does have a risk of brick right? i dont like messing with the flash unless i totally have to.

i need a higher devhook than 0.46 that emulates 2.71 to play metalgear solid portable ops right?

and when it says launcher files does that mean the folder inside that says MS:ROOT?

Currently Playing: Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas 2(elite),EchoChrome(Imported), Final Fantasy V,VII

PSP Life:2.50-->2.60-->1.50-->3.10 OE-A-->3.40 OE-A-->
3.52 m33-->3.60 m33-->3.71 m33-->3.80 m33-->3.90 m33-2

MSROOT = memory stick root. thats inside is what u copy to the root of your psp drive. and yes more then likely running devhook .51 and emulating 3.02 should fix this problem. I havent heard of anyone not being able to load it via devhook.

@Abyss8- Try changing the clock speed to 222/111, that may fix the wifi problem. Also yeah flashing does have a small chance of bricking your PSP. But its very small, and this flasher in DevHook only adds files to flash and doesn't delete/overwrite anything. If you keep the AC adapter plugged in when flashing (which only takes a little while) then it should be alright.

Hey, really thx for all the instruction. I have been able to install FW3.01 without flashing my psp.
But I have one more problem: When I quit the game using the HOME menu, the psp(v1.5) would shut down by itself instead of returning back to the XMB page. Is there a way to resolve this?

This is an easy way to install 3.01 with devhook .51 without any troubles. No messing with flash1. No messing with extracting the data.psar file.

1.) first we will need the installer for devhook. Download it from here - http://dl.qj.net/3.01-DevHook-Firmware-I...11615/catid/151

2.) now we need the 3.01 update. download is here - http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=934

3.) last we need to download devhook .51 - http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=933

4.) extract the devhook firmware installer and copy it to ms0:\PSP\GAME.

5.) extract and place the 3.01 update in the root of your memory stick.

6.) extract devhook and put the launcher files in ms0:\PSP\GAME and place the DH folder in the root of your memory stick. you can also simply copy and paste it but in the guide that comes with the installer states you need the fbm folder but I found it runs fine without it.

7.) Start the devhook firmware installer and press X when it prompts you on screen. It will now install all the firmware files for devhook. No more BSOD. When it's finished you can now boot devhook with 3.01 support.

On a side note it seems that some people (including me) have X and O buttons swapped on their psp's when in 3.01 In doesn't happen to all people but here are the registry files to swap them back to their original places.
http://rapidshare.com/files/6249912/Button_Swap_for_3.01.rar.html
Place these files in the ms0:\dh\301\f1\registry.
I DONT SEE 2. 3. Files?? :(?? I dont know wihich files i need to get??

@wutang
you should search for them at the site.
the eboot.pbp is here for 3.0 and up
http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/53
I dont feel like looking for the devhook so search yourself lol.

@fallguy- when you're at the devhook screen, go to the file emulation and pick your iso, then start devhook. It should work, if it doesnt then try fooling around with the cpu clock, which usually works for me.

EDIT: wutang the eboot.pbp you choose depends on what fw you want to emulate with devhook (duh you wanna pick 3.02)

Anyway, i seem to have devhook working, I just need an idiots guide on how to play an .iso please.
Do I need to have a disk in the psp to play an .iso from the mem stick?

Thank you so much to this forum, your posts have been brilliant! :o)
