@Hex or @Eternalis: I just bought a 4GB memory card. I want to start from scratch and I know you guys have posted before a clean link where devhook 5.01 just goes clean into the memory root with all the proper folders etc. I am looking into dev5.01 firmware 3.02.
Can you post that link again? Thanks!

its devhook 0.51 and there is no easy installer thing like the one released from booster yet. Manually putting the folders in is how you have to do it now.

OK.I think the last devhook booster produced where everything falls automatically in the memory root with all the folders was for dev 0.46. Link to that please?

Eternalis and Hex, following your guides i have managed to install devhook, add iso's and get it all up and running perfectly, ready for my hubby on Xmas day.
I just wanted to say Thank You, your guides were the best and the easiest I found on the web.

Root of the memory stick is X:\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP).

ive got an unusual error that happens when i load devhook .51 for 2.71 HEND, choose my iso, select FW 3.01, and after selecting start Devhook, it seems to just exit out back to the 1.5 XMB.
any thoughts?

Eternalis, which devhook version would you recommnend to get for a completely new memory card where I'd like to just get all the folders including Photo, music, etc. Once I have all the folders, even though it's not the latest firmware, I can always update from there. I hear booster had something like that but I can't find a link to that version. Your suggestion plz?

I did accordingly,, but I can't seem 2 get it 2 work or I can't load it.all I get is a 2 corrupted icons and the installer

This site is amazing, everyone is being so helpful
i ahve a problem, i got devhook to work but i cant select my iso(s) even though its in there. Does anyone have this problem also? And if u have a way to solve it can u tell me? thanks

Great guide and follow up. I'm new to dev hook and need some help please. When i go to my memory stick it says devhook .51 launcher beta i click on it and the screen comes up with several options. I select my iso and change the firm ware to 3.01 then it start dev hook and my psp shuts down. what am i doing wrong? I have flashed the psp, any suggestions?

spalding, this sounds a bit mad, but try unplugging the charger if you have it in (worked for me). I kept getting the bsod and that cured it.

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't help. Maybe my settings are wrong or something i keep getting that bsod. Any other suggestions?

thanks eternalis from your guide my brand new PSP is running in 3.01, not got around to doing the 3.02 update yet.
i just got my PSP for crimbo so im new to this and ive still got a couple of qusetions
the game ISO's do i need to extract the files from the ISO or do i put the ISO straight into the root of my memory card?
do i have to have a game disc in to get the the ISO to run?
im assuming im doing something wrong somewhere cause when i try to load the game i get "this game cannot be started. the data is corrupted"

gruel,
I have my iso's in a folder called 'iso' in the root of the ms, and yes you need a disc in as it thinks it is reading the disk but really reads the iso.
This works on mine anyway, but someone correct me if i'm wrong :o)

When I go to load the installer on my psp it says "This Game cannot be started. The data is corrupted"
Any reasons why?
And no, my X and O button are fine!

It seems to be that you are missing the 3.01 FW file in the folder. Are you sure that you have followed the proper direction to install devHook?

Hi Newbie here ,have been reading the threads on using 3.OEA from dark alex wheni go to the link atdownload.ql i can not get the file to download and keeps sending me round in circles what do i have to do to download,sorry if this seeems a bit stupid but have been stuck on this for a couple of hours any help would be realy appreciated

Can this be used on FW 2.71 with TA boards? if not, which DeevHook can be used to emulate FW 3.01? there is some games I cannot start because of this, can someone pls help me out, any links would be useful, don't want to brick psp. thx in advance

i got wwe 2007 on ta 082 emulating 3.01 and it runs but it always freezes and the music and everything freezes the game actully works but when i go to screens like exhibition screens it freezes when im playing a match it never frezzes it might after the match is done so i have to take out the umd and restart the psp any tips thanks

go to psphacks.com. you can get the dark alex 3.02 or the new 3.03 firmware mod from there. it does work great. im using the 3.03 right now. no probs with it, just follow the instrutions that r with it and it will work.

I had to ask the same question :o) You need to make a folder called iso and put it in the root of your memory stick.
