i've been doing my homework for 3 days now and so far i learned
i dont have a ta-082 psp, i have 2.60 fw, im suppose to leave the charger plugged in when i do this, make sure i dont have a UMD game inside the psp... am i missing anything?

Hey guys,
I have 3.02 OE-B and have a lil prob.
A few games which used to run smoothly on 3.02 emulated fw [dh0.51.01 onf fw1.5] won't play:s....(Project 8 gets stuck on loading..)
Tony Hawk's P8 & Marvel Rise of the imperfects..
Is there sth i did wrong or still need to do to make sure they play?

Can sme1 pleaz answer mah question bout converting MDF files. How do you change a psx into a psp game. When I downloaded a psx torrent,instead of getting the psp folder with the eboot.pbp and keys.bin file, I got an MDF file along with a MDS file. How do i change this into something I can use to put on my psp?

i have a ta-082 2.71 downgraded to a 1.50 and updated to a 3.02oe-b and im having problems getting games to load.. do i still have to use devhook? or is there another folder i have to put thenmin the game or game150

Nope..no need for devhook.
And if your using iso/cso, you need to make a folder called ISO in the root of your MS. Just put your iso/cso in that folder and you'll be able to play.
One more thing...you might get the notice: blablabla..game could not be started.. Just restart the psp and hold the R button while doing so..That'll bring you in recovery mode. Scroll to config and set your Game folder to 1.5Kernel ( by default it's 3.02) and set the option to NO UMD enabled...en then exit recovery mode...and all will be well..

I've been trying to get some of my PSX games working on my PSP for the past few days, but I've had no success so far. I mentionned it in another thread. I received some pointers, but nothing worked (so far). Here it is :
I've been trying to run a PSX game on my PSP for the past two days, and I'm desperate enough to post to this message board. Here's what I did :
(Note : Originally, the PSP was a TA-082 with FW 2.6, without any modification).
1. I upgraded the PSP to 2.71
2. Using Dark_AleX's downgrader, I was able to get 1.5 running on the console without any problem.
3. I got 3.02 OE-A running, then upgraded to 3.02 OE-B, then to 3.03 OE-A. (If I check in System Information, I can read "System Software 3.03 OE-A)
4. Using IsoBuster, I extracted the PSX CD (I tested Tactics Ogre and the demo for FFVIII that came with Brave Fencer Musashi, since all the other games I own are too big for my 512 Mb Lexar memory card) using the "Extract CD image RAW (bin, iso)" method.(IsoBuster version is 2.0, grabbed from the official site just two days ago). [With 3.03 and the PopStation command that came with it, I also tried the Arcade CD of Gran Turismo 2 using compression]
5. Using Clean Popstation, I input the SLUS/SCUS and the title, then the iso file name. I get a bunch of messages not giving any error.
6. I copied the files EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN to X:\PSP\GAME\SLUS90029
7. When I try to run the game, I get the "Precautions" message, then the game crashes with "The game could not be started. 80000004".
Here's what I've trying to remedy this problem (with no success) :
* rip the CD using Nero (which doesn't work because I only have the Express version, which only allows me to rip in NRG format)
* used CloneCD, ISO Producer, Alcohol 120% to create the CD image
* using the regular PopStation (with Hot Shot Golf 2 as the BASE.PBP) and PSX2PSP v.0.7 and Prometeus 0.9.4 (Mac utility)
* format the memory card
* reset the settings on the PSP
I tried using the official Hot Shots Golf 2 PBP and it worked. I downloaded the EBOOT for Crash Bandicoot 2 from another place (I do own the game) and tried it, but it didn't work either. Homebrew applications (namely, NesterJ) work fine on the PSP.
Do you, PSP hackers extraordinaire, have any idea about the origins of my problem?

hey guys,
i have a TA-082 PSP FW2.71 which was un-modded, and i recently downgraded to 1.50 successfully.
now i am using this guide to try to run devhook http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/369769
HOwever on step 6 whenever i run devhook, my computer says its found a new hardware, but instead of it showing up as "PSP type B" like it should, it says "USB Device" and whenever i run usbhostfs.exe it never shows up as connected
what do i do?

need help with upgrading to 2.0 firmware from 1.52, i tried it and it wouldnt let me,said corrupted file when i selected the memory stick icon,appreciate the help

hi
how enable wma music file on 3.02 oa without using a wifi connection.
and do you need to upgrade to 3.02 ob to be able to update to 3.03 oa
or you can go from 3.02 oa to 3.03 oa?

Exe RECOVERY and scroll to REGISTRY HACKS you,ll find them in there, just enable.
Yes you can upgrade to 3.03OE-A from 3.02OA,B.

Please help!!!
I have bought my son a psp with system software 2.71 SE-B model psp1000k, we bought him Smackdown vs Raw 2007 but this will not load, other UMD's and ISO's work fine,
Q1, do i need emulators to run this game if so which one and how do I install it as I never got a mem stick with it so i'm not sure if I have all the right folders ?.
Q2, Am I better off upgrading to 3.02oe-a but if so do I have to go back to FW1.5 first?.
sorry for silly questions just a soppy dad trying to save a few quid,
it's not TA-082 please help if you can .

You can upgrade from your current custom firmware, not sure if it will solve your problem though.

Hello. I would appreciate a little help and assistance. I have gone from 2.60>2.71>1.50>3.02 OE-A>B on my TA-082 mobo and this works beautifully for me. I can play all my ISOs without issues on my Sandisk 2GB ms. My questions are...
a. I have a spare SONY 2GB ms lying around and would like to know how to go about using it to play additional ISOs. Do I have to do the whole upgrade process (4rm FW 1.50 to 3.02OE-B) on it again or do I just copy my games to it and switch memory sticks to play additional ISOs?
b. Can anyone give me a good link/guide on how to install SEGA Genesis and SNES emulators on my 3.02 OE-B?
Keep up the good work guys. It's really appreciated.

Just place them in your GAME folder, place the roms inside them.
Create another folder called ISO on your 2gig and just play away. ;)

hackaday you full of it, there is FOR SURE a downgrader fro 2.71 and is designed for ta-082.....i know this is your thread but dont spout out inaccurate information, just makes you look like a n00b.

i got a question
i have a 2.71 TA-082
and i have completed all the steps up to "D" from this link

the first step in "D" is the autoboot from the hend photo
when i went to the hend photo from the previous step, "B", i had no problem with the autoboot
now it just shows hend as an image "RAND" and will not autoboot
Thus, i cant run devhook .51
i get "this game could not be started (80020001)"
can som1 help me out, sorry, n00b here :(

just upgraded to 3.10oe a and how do i change the fonts on it
and another question is there a downgrader for 3.10 oe-a, i personally liked 3.03oe-c better

downgrading 3.10oe is easy
get the recovery folder
and put the 1.5 eboot in there.
remember to change the eboot's name to update.pbp before you put it in recovery folder
then hold R while booting to get into recovery
run program at \psp\game\recovery\eboot.pbp
this should put you back on 1.50 ready to upgrade back to 3.03oe
