There are two of us that use the latest version of AnyDVD with no problems. We have Plextor's 760 and 750. Also, use any of five different brands of DVD disks.
My guess is that your drive needs a firmware upgrade and a call to the LG support line might help.
Also, I have seen security programs, such as spyware blockers, impede AnyDVD. For example I've seen AOL's security program cause a problem.

i own an LG and have no problems.
AND-DVD is not the source or the problem.
i also have a sneaking suspicion that you guys new to using ANY-DVD have never removed DVD43(you know....the smiley face)before running it >:->

Some people just don't know any better

I've been to several computer shows and overheard venders telling customers that 'all they need to copy DVDs is their program and DVD43'

Of course, I pissed several venders off by telling their customers that they don't need either program . . .

Yep, I use AnyDVD 6102 and have no problems. Just as a reminder to many people out there: if you actually pay for the program, you'll almost never have problems with it. *hint hint*

And to the original poster, even though this post is quite old, AnyDVD will not "break" an optical drive. Unless there's a magical way of installing a program onto an optical drive, it's totally impossible.

I think enough of Sly Soft's products that I purchased AnyDVD for myself (years ago) and recently I purchased AnyDVD, CloneDVD and CloneCD for my daughter as a Christmas present

Yes, I agree. DVD43 interfered with my use of AnyDVD. I deleted the DVD43 program so that AnyDVD would run properly.

I fixed my drive this weekend. Like many of the posts I concluded to that the Fuji Media was just no good, and tried some Memorex DVD+RW in the computer that was still recognizing media in general and it worked. I tried to update the LG drives firmware but there were none available. I then opened the back cover of the drive and hit it with some compressed air, and bingo it worked again. However I did notice it was leaving a few scratched on the first couple of test burns I did. I am guessing that using the lightscribe technology left some dust or something in the drive that covered up the laser. I have never used AnyDVD, so to those of you with that problem, I am not sure what you can do.

WOW< this topic is much more popular then I imagined when I created it.

1. The title was supposed to be an eyegrabber, I didn't really suspect AnyDVD was the problem. Most likely just a drive wearing out but I wanted to get peoples opinions on what I could do to try and fix my drive.

2. About a week ago I figured out the drive was still under the extended warranty that the person who bought it for me got with the drive, so it was replaced free of charge.

3. I was not new to AnyDVD as I had used it for over a year and a half with no problems, and I will probably continue to use it as it is the best ripper available IMO. It is a legit purchased copy
