this one has some tricks for clone. the dvd structure causes clone to show an error while it is scanning the the titles but i have found a way around it. if you copy just the movie you will have no problems when backing this up but if you want the extras you will have to remove title numbers 2,3,7,9,15,16,17 these are the bad structure titles that cause clone to trip out when removed you can make a perfect back up without a hitch

That info is making the circuit. Currently for full disc RI4M is doing a good job with the new releases and it's all freeware. http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html .

@daamu, how did you remove the bogus titles? AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 with CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3 has failed me attempting to back up the entire movie? I'm now trying Nero 7 Recode2 which surprisly can work, I will see. If not I'm going to unistall AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 and go back to version 6.0.8.5 To be honest most titles I back in full so easily that this SAW III thing is exciting. I'm gonna get it, It just might take a welcomed minute.:P

PacMan777, I've yet to see a member post that they've actually completed a SAW III full disc back up using RipIt4Me, AnyDVD has also claimed to have fixed this 40 bogus title set issue...so far Nero 7 recode2 is encoding fine with AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 running in the backround. Let's see what happens.:P

That won't get rid of the bogus VTS. That's where a bunch of the software if failing. Besides all the small empty files and the bogus files, there's the noncompliant structure. RI4M rips and then cleans up the IFOs and removes or blanks the bogus VTS. Then FixVTS processes for DVD compliance with the VOBs. Saw 3 is supposed to be loaded up with the file copy protections along with the ARccOS. They're just heaping on the protection to mess with the copy protection. Once everyone catches on, it won't be no more difficult than when ARccOS was sprung on us. That's when I first found FixVTS.

This will be taken care of by this time next week when the movie gets it's retail release in North America.

Not many had done Crank, and Talladega Nights in full disc either. I don't see the problem now that I've read the RI4M log. A lot of small empty files, bogus VTS, and non compliant structure along with ARccOS with Puppetlock was the problem. Saw 3 is supposed to just be a heaping more of what's on Talladega Nights. I'm looking forward to getting it when it's released. I don't have access to early sales like some people do. ;) paschal pointed out that DVDFab Decrypter has already been updated by DVDIdle for the US release of Saw 3. FixVTS has been updated to make it usable. I think there was an issue with a register where Saw was just throwing so much junk at it. AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are supposed to do it in movie only. There's not enough of Saw 3 out yet to really see if it's a problem. Of course with beginners, anything our of the norm is going to cause a problem.

DVDIdle said they already had it under control and from what I've seen, I think RI4M will do it as well. No doubt AnyDVD will be up to speed as well.

@PacMan777 & res2cue....I've known Nero 7 to work, not sure what thaey do different when encoding a given title encoding for me here with Nero 7 Recode2 is close to completion. SlySoft has known about the SAW III bogus title set for some time as this movie was purchase by few members within the last week or so. I still think SlySoft & AnyDVD must have gone through some staff changing as I have found going back to older version as far back as 6.0.8.5 which work fine on the newer supposedly tougher titles?hmmmm?:P

By the time you get to loading the files in a transcoder or encoder, most of the offerings will do the job. The biggest part of the job is getting by the encryption and copy protection and getting the files into a compliant form so the software can process them. Nero's recode is supposedly some of the work of the author of Shrink. My fault with Recode is that it won't do some of the larger movies and won't do full disc when the files are large. It is limited in it's ability to handle compression in comparison to several of the top programs. I've used Recode on occasion and it's a decent program as long as the files aren't too large.

And how did you find those were the particular titles to delete? I'm sure AnyDVD and Clone didn't give you that info. Why edit when there's easier wayst to do it. The DVDFab Decrypter 3060 Beta for example.

It sounds like Talladega Nights in a big way with all those bogus files thrown in to mess up the software. Except for some lucky souls, the rest of us have to wait till next week. ;)

I'm not too worried about it. With all the tools we have available, something should work. DVDIdle has a Beta update addressing the SAW 3 release and other software has been getting the job done.

Thanks daamu!...I'll try the method you suggest if the latest RipIt4Me 1.6.4.0 does not work. Just to let everyone know none of my typical approaches have worked? AnyDVD, (version what ever) CloneDVD2, 2.9.0.3 Nero 7 Recode2, & Vob Blanker 2.1.0.0? Now I'm not known to ask for help in backing up a given title, Just because I never need it. SAW III is a beast so far. This is the 1st time that I am following the posted suggestion to use RipIt4Me assisted by DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 I've avoided this process as I have said many a day that it is just too long for me considering I own the original. SlySoft at this point has fallen off as they have allowed freeware providers to work at and resolve this issue amidst their paying customer's? As I mentioned this problem is not new information to them. I hope they have not chosen to sell out. Again I'm surprised because they are usually on their job working ahead of the popular encryption providers. I haven't heard from from forum member Alkohol on this one, I guess he too would suggest "RipIt4Me", the current king of the hill or at least for now.:P

Paschal93 listed a link for the DVDFab Decrypter 3060 Beta update which was for the Saw 3 release. http://www.dvdfab.com/DVDFabDecrypter3060Beta.exe DVDIdle is already on the case.

I have no idea why anyone would avoid RI4M. Once set up, it's easy and relatively fast for all it does. The one click couldn't be more easy and with the wizard it walks the user through. Check the guide and all you have to remember is to have DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter installed before using the RI4M installer. It might be an idea to give the official guide a quick look. http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html

This isn't the old Decrypter PSL setup. RI4M is so fast it smokes in comparison. You'll be surprised when you go to use it.

@Pacman777, I'm trying another approach which is to process the SAW III file decrypted with RipIt4Me & DVD Decrypter through CloneDVD2 which so far is working. Anyone know where I can go in DVD Decrypter to change the "On The Fly" feature. Though the SAW III file completed decrypting through RipIt4Me & DVD Decrypter I did get "On The Fly" errors which I simply clicked through. RipIt4Me did suggest that I process the remaining file through FixVTS which I did not have installed on my PC, so I'm using CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3 which should do the same job. Damn!...this was a tough one. I hope I got all the extras and stuff.;P
