Had to use Clone DVD2 and Any DVD to get this to back up. Did the movie only and compression rate was about 80%. I could have taken out some audio steams & even got a higher rate. Played it back on my 50 inch Panasonic Plasma and picture looks pretty good.

Well, well, I picked up the big, bad Saw III today. Much to my chagrin, it couldn't even play on my computer! lol WinDVD and Nero Showtime would just stall and ultimately freeze. I'm a paid customer of AnyDVD and its ripper doesn't even work. Vob Blanker can't open it (too many files, I think 99). The latest DVDFab beta version doesn't recognize it.

BUT

Ripit4me is working right now. I'm glad that all this talk about this title is *almost* justified with the abundance of threads concerning this title.

I am disappointed in Slysoft though. I have never run into a title that AnyDVD can't rip/decrypt.

I just found out that so many people ran into similar problems with Crank and Talledega Nights. I didn't have any such problems with those which is why I'm dissatisfied with Slysoft.

*Edit* I'm talking about full disc backups--NOT movie only.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

It's my understanding that the developers at Slysoft are waiting to get their hands on a copy of the movie to check it themselves. Other than that, who knows?

i tried removing the sectors and this works perfect, so i can say that this method is quicker and i didnot have to go through all the humbug with other programs.

Not new to burning but I am having loads of trouble with this movie. I've tried most of the stuff you guys have said on this and other threads but the only progress I have made is getting ripit4me to make the psl file and open DVDDecrypter and that is where it all comes crashing down. Not new as I said, but not as savvy as some when it comes to figuring out the ways around this stuff. I usually use DVDFab to rip then Shrink and burn with DVDDecrypt. I did use AnyDVD and CloneDVD until the free trials ran out and I couldn't update it anymore. How about some play by play for us slowpokes? Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm also going to say that RipIt4Me worked fabulously. If you just do everything in 1 click wizard, everything should go just fine for you. As for steps? I don't think you really need any except to run it through and let it work its magic. My copy plays great.

daamu,

Hey i took them titles out that you posted.I was able to back up the movies, hower when i put the movie in my dvd player,it registered as being a dvd-video disc, but then the stop icon came up shortly afterwards.I just pressing play and nothing happens.

What does your copy do?Thanks in advance.

Did anyone else backed up this movie(full movie)? I tried everything, free programs and all.

Took some time but accomplished perfectly.I first had AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 beta in the background then ran through VobBlanker 2.1.3.0 beta4 to strip out anything I didn't want then off to Nero Recode and then shrink and presto.Perfect backup with Special Features,Movie, and menus.

Try the method I posted.

1st.have the beta version of AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 running in the background. You can get the beta from Free-codecs.com
2nd.run the disc through VobBlanker 2.1.3.0 beta 4 to strip out anything you don't want.Creat an output folder first.Name it VOB Saw3
3rd.once files have been run through VobBlanker go into Nero Recode(if anyone has it)select VOB Saw 3 folder.
4th.Creat new folder and name it Saw 3.
5th.Run Recode and it will shrink the files to your preferred file size.
6th.Open up Shrink and let it do it's thing and finally burn with whatever program you use to burn.

I just did it with Ripit4Me 1.6.4.0 and FixVTS 1.6.0.3. and it worked out just fine.It took awhile with Ripit because it had to Extract Sectors and Insert Dummy Sectors but nonetheless it worked fine.
