One thing a lot of people are forgetting to do is update the FixVTS. Were you using 1.6.0.3 when your failure happened?

I thought this information might help some of the newer members get the correct programs installed so that they could complete the movie!

To update FixVTS:
FixVTS is located in C:\Programs Files\PgcEdit\plugins If you do not have PgcEdit, but have downloaded the file then do a search and find its location. This is where you want to overwrite the new update of FixVTS.

Now how to get the update. The update is a zip file that you can download. Make sure to put the new file in place of the old file. Open RipIt4Me, and you will see an are at the top of the program that says, "Downloads". Select that and then select Download FixVTS. A new web page will show with all of the updates to the program. The newest version is 1.603. Now replace your old file with your new file.

Next: In RI4M select "Logs/Settings" and then "Preferences". A new window will open. At the bottom of the window you will see an area called, "Paths to programs". By clicking the area to the left of DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and FixVTS you may put the location with a simple browse.

After you have the update of FixVTS you can complete this movie without a problem. As Mr_Pink pointed out, there are 99 unreferenced cells in this movie. I would use VobBlanker to get Blank or Delete these cells to save room for the movie. Good luck and happy burning!

Try my method out.It works.

Well I made a few folders first in order to transfer the VobBlanker files and Recode files.
You can get the beta versions of both AnyDVD and VobBlanker from Free-Codecs.com
Enable AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 beta in the background.
Next make a folder and call it VOB Saw 3.
Once you have the beta version of VobBlanker 2.1.3.0 beta 4 open it up and select the DVD which is Saw 3.
After you have selected Saw 3,select the output folder which should be VOB Saw 3.You can then proceed to blank out anything you don't want from the movie.
Now just click on PROCESS and let VobBlanker do it's thing.
Once that is done open up Nero Recode and select your folder Called VOB Saw 3.It will proceed to analyse the files.
Ok now minimize Recode and go and make another folder in order for your finished files from Recode to be stored in to use later on.
Once that is done click on Start in Recode and it ask you what folder to put the files into.Select the newly created folder SAW 3 and click on Burn.It will start the process and when done it will store the files into your new folder.
Now open up Shrink and select the Saw 3 folder and once you click on BACKUP it will proceed to make the ISO image which can be burned with either Nero or IMGBURN or DVDDecrypter.

Enjoy.

Where did you get the aforementioned beta versions from?

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the AnyDVD update. I have the movie waiting on my HDD to burn. But I want the entire disc. At this point, the bonus stuff isn't even worth it (I already watched it), but I refuse to lose lol.

pool,
Thanks for the PM. I have a licensed (paid for) version of Any DVD and am currently running 6.1.0.7. Will that suffice?

I ran through Vob Blanker 2.1.3.0 beta 4 and have the files sitting in a specified folder.

This is where I get stuck. As I mentioned in the PM, I have Nero Recode but have never used it. I open Nero StartSmart and choose Nero Recode. When I do that, Recode pops up and presents me with the following options:
Recode an Entire DVD to DVD
Recode Main Movie to DVD
Remake a DVD
Recode DVDs and Videos to Nero Digital
Recode Main Movie to Nero Digital

What option should I choose, and then, to your best ability, can you guide me through the specific steps after that? Thanks again. Your help is very much appreciated.

I tried backing up the movie this way, but when I opened Ripit4Me, I get the following error:

"Couldn't read sector 16 while parsing file system"

I'm unable to proceed further.

If you follow alkohol's guide for ripit4me, it should work. Make sure, however, you use the latest FixVTS!

For those keeping score, you can find the beta versions here:

@Mr_Pink
You can get the beta of AnyDVD here:
http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6111.exe

I used it and CloneDVD - did menu, movie and deleted scenes only (all I every usually do) and left 1 audio - 91% and took under 20 mins.

Yes it does play - no problems.

edit to add:
@mobnole
Try this in another drive if you have one.
Using RipIt4me and 1 drive gave me an error and wouldn't finish reading it - put in in another and worked.

Hey guys, this one is giving me a fit. I have tried ripitfor me, with no luck. It went through everything with the one-step, and got all the way to the shrink feature and locked up. I've tried AnyDVD, dfab and DVD Decrypter. Any Ideas,,,,PLEASE.

The Gaurdian was no problem after Vob Blanker. But like I said Saw is Killing me.

Thanks, I've downloaded FixVTS, but the problem is I can't even get started with Ripit4Me. I started following alkohol's guide, but I got the error I mentioned above. It won't even display the DVD information. I doubt it matters, but when I downloaded Ripit4Me, it wasn't a setup program. I didn't have to go through installation. I downloaded the program from the link provided, unzipped it, and there was only one file/program. I created a shortcut to my desktop, and opened it. I used the "one click" process, and then I received the "Couldn't read sector 16 while parsing file system" error.

Please advise if you notice any mistakes in my steps. Your help is very much appreciated.

Seems like some of it is working:

the beta version of VOBB 2.130 4 is actually able to open the DVD. Blanking the trailers and all, and I mean ALL, the other VTS', we're on our way. Whether or not I'm able to successfully transcode and burn is a different story. BUT, this is somewhat of a pleasant update.

VOBB, before this beta version, wasn't even able to open the DVD. Oh yeah, I'm running AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 beta.

Wow, it recognized it when I put it in another DVD drive. I followed the RipIt4Me steps, clicked next, and DVD Decrypter is running as I type. Thanks a bunch for the tip!

Just make sure you look at the guide and have the different paths set up for FixVTS, Shrink and Decrypter in Preferences in RipIt4me.

RipIt4Me is just 1 file - an exe nothing to install - same w/ FixVTS.

If everything is set up like the guide shows do you have another drive you can try this in? The error you're getting is right when RipIt4Me is reading the disc.

Thanks a ton. I'm going to see if the RipIt4Me / DVD Decrypter will work since I have that running right now.

At the very least, your specific tips have surely helped someone else reading this thread.

Thanks to all for being so helpful.

Still going strong! VOBB has finished successfully. Shrink has opened and is currently processing successfully (I'm using my laptop to type this up as my desktop is doing the Saw 3 job). I saved the VOBB log but it's on my desktop. I'll post here again after Shrink has finished.

Missed your earlier post. When the RipIt4Me installer is used FixVTS is put in the RI4M folder. The correct path is C:\Program Files\RipIt4Me

For proper function of RI4M with Saw 3 FixVTS should be updated to 1.6.0.3. Just copy it into the directory listed above.

If Shrink and Decrypter are already installed RI4M sets the path automatically. So order of component installation is important or setting the paths in Preferences is needed as syxguns noted before.
